A lovely place to go for dinner. Being vegetarians we were very impressed with the separate vegetarian menu. The food was all freshly prepared and the portion size very generous. In September the owner said there was going to be a carvery. Only open Friday to Sunday for meals would definitely recommend this place to all.

Stayed for two nights... upon arrival we felt very welcome even carried our bags to the room :) a lovely homely room. Put in extra bed to accomodate our son. (My son ate all the buscuits, to his delight was filled the next day) would recommend the inn to everyone.

We had an evening meal. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. We were impressed with the vegetarian choices, the quality and quantity of the food. Lovely building with calming fish tanks! Would highly recommend a visit.

This is our second meal here with our son, who has severe food allergies. Sue and Cran made it possible for us to eat here. All the meals and service were excellent. Look forward to our next visit to the forest, when we visit our son.

Just spent 4 very peaceful nights at the Montague whilst visiting relatives in the area. Welcome was second to none and nothing was too much trouble. Spotless, very comfortable room and the most generous hospitality tray we have ever had. Probably the best cooked breakfast we have ever enjoyed, perfectly cooked and piping hot. Excellent value for money and a...

The Montague has a nice homey feel, and is located not far from the many excellent cycling paths in the Forest. We had dinner in the restaurant, stayed overnight, and had breakfast the next morning. The food was all good, with several vegetarian options as well as good meat. You are given a long list on the night before of...

We stayed at this Inn as we were visiting family locally. The bedroom was newly decorated, very clean and cosy. Everything we could possibly need was provided within the room and ensuite bathroom. The breakfast was a delicious, served hot and at a time of our choice. We would definitely return if in the area again. Shame we weren't there...
