Myself and my Fiancé booked 3 nights (Friday until Monday) at Forest House as we were staying in the area to see friends. On arrival we were able to park just outside and we were welcomed by the owner Barbara and shown to our room. Barbara and her other half were so warm and engaging, nothing seemed too much trouble.... Great place lovely food and genuine owners who work hard to look after you. Great for business or travel really recommend it.:-) The rooms are being transformed with some nice touches and investment and it really does show. Can't speak too highly of this great place

I thought I would take my family to the Forest House restaurant after seeing an article in the local paper. I loved the dining room of which was tastefully decorated and very comfortable and had a relaxing ambience. We all thought the food was simply delightful , the choice was good and it was cooked to perfection. The service was... More

Stayed here for one night when travelling to visit family. We were made to feel very welcome by Barbara, who greeted us personally. The room was fine if a little tired decor-wise. The bed was comfy and the location was quiet even though so close to the square, where there was a large screen showing Wimbledon matches at quite a... More

Thank you for your review. As you know we have only been here for 3 months and we have so far refurbished rooms 1-6. Room 7 (your room) is next on our list! As for the 'tennis in the town', I am sorry that this disturbed your afternoon but rather beyond our control. i hope that you will have the... More

We have literally just come back from our short stay here at Forest House and couldn't wait to rave about the place. We travelled with two small well behaved dogs, which already put it in our good books as being pet friendly, and we knew that this was the place to use as basecamp for our trip. After reading reviews... More

Myself and my wife have just returned from our stay and the purpose of our visit was to attend a wedding of our friends at clearwell castle. Now upon arrival we where greeted by Barbara one of the owners and she is by far one of the best hosts I've ever come across. We travel a lot and as such... More

Our visit was a time to unwind after a busy week. The room was very comfortable and quiet even on a main road could not hear the traffic. All amenities were of a very high standard. We would stay again.

We stayed here for one night on a visit to the Forest of Dean for a charity event. Barbara was a fantastic host and went above and beyond to look after us - and the other guests by all accounts. We didn't meet Simon but we did encounter his cooking, which explains why there were clearly so many repeat visitors... More

My husband booked the Forest House as a surprise mini break for us, after the Easter holidays, however it was only once we had arrived that he told me the new owners had only just taken over, two weeks prior! If he had had any concerns, he really needn’t have. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and shown... More
