Booked this as a night away. When we read the reviews were a bit apprehensive. Room was spacious with a very large and comfortable bed. Communal eating not a problem and got talking to a lovely couple staying there. Food and service at breakfast were excellent and staff couldn't do enough for you. Nice walk out in the local area...

Both myself and my partner stayed in the Abbot Hall Hotel between the 30th Jan to the 2nd Feb 2017. We were very apprehensive after reading the reviews on here, but we were pleasantly shocked once we'd checked in. We stayed in room 12 which overlooked the main entrance, it was a beautiful room with a great view. Breakfast was...

All I want to say is ask to see your room before you pay your money. They offered us the bungalow which was totally unacceptable to sleep in. the room was damp smelly and very cold. Could not tolerate it any longer so we spoke to the receptionist who at first wasn't going to give us our money back and...

We were then moved to the main house which was much nicer however on the first night we decided to eat in the bistro I had fish and chips the fish was still frozen yes frozen when I complained they apologised...

Great location and will definately return...

We stayed in one of the lodges which were really cute, very warm and fun. However, it was so dirty, didnt seem like it had been cleaned properly for years. There were lampshades missing, TV didn't work, beds were so uncomfortable, walls paper thin. Its a real shame because it has such potential!! The staff really need to give it...

Had a lovely lunch at this hotel. Food well cooked at a reasonable price. Waiting staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel also has a small coffee shop at the entrance which would be good for a coffe and cake. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Staff were very friendly but to say the room was spartan would be an epic understatement ! No television is one thing, but no radiator in the middle of winter is a laugh. Pool heating was broken so it was cold, no bathroom only a communal shower. Best thing about this place was getting the refund and seeing it disappear...

Booked to stay here just for one night. It was the middle of winter and our room was freezing cold with no radiator, very bare minimum with a very uncomfortable bed, washroom and toilets were at the bottom of the hall which was very inconvenient! There was no amenities local without driving. Didn't end up staying the night because it...
