Lovely hotel from the outside, looks a real picture, walk in to a nice medieval style room and reception, half of the rooms have been refurbished and had new bathrooms, decorations etc, unfortunately ours hadn't been done yet so it was very dated and in need of a blast of life asap, especially at the price we paid! We decided... More

Rooms are warm, comfortable well-appointed and the hotel itself exudes character. The views from rooms at the front are beautiful over Morecambe Bay to the hills beyond, Christmas and New Year are especially wonderful times to stay, with the house decorated spectacularly. The restaurant serves excellent food.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the end of October [lots of years] at the Netherwod and can thoroughly recommend this hotel. It is set on a commanding elevated position on the edge of Grange-over -Sands looking south with beautiful views over Morecambe Bay. The building looks very imposing built in a slight curve set overlooking manicured... More

We have been to very impressive weddings at this Hotel in the past and on that basis booked a weekend in October. We had a bay view room in the pet friendly/family wing, but had no problem with noise from dogs or children. The room was dated but very comfortable, had a powerful, fully controllable heater, nice bathroom (with bath) and a very good... More

We held our wedding at The Netherwood and we cannot praise the staff too highly.Everything including the meal was perfect and Gary looked after us throughout the day to make sure everything went according to plan. The hotel is a gorgeous setting for a wedding and all our guests who stayed over were most impressed with the hotel and its... More

We vchose to stay at the Netherwood again as we have wonderful memories of our son's wedding breakfast a few years ago. The building and well kept grounds are truly impressive, as are the main areas downstairs and the lovely staircase. The staff are welcoming and helpful and the Netherwood has a very homely, welcoming feel but the bedrooms are... More

We booked a Saturday night stay here through laterooms.com. The hotel itself looks impressive from the outside but thats were it ends. We booked the hotel mainly for its spa & pool facilities... but they didn't live up to expectations with a tiny pool. We were allocated to a room which was dated and shabby with ripped wallpaper and a... More

Stunned that such a nice looking hotel in a nice area of the Lake District can have such a poor and frankly dirty changing room, there has been a leak for over 12 months and cleaning up does not seem to happen much, however good news for the staff of the gym and swimming area... They get to stand and... More

Was there for a conference. Hotel has beautiful well maintained gardens, the hotel itself is old fashioned but full of ambiance. Would have been nice to stay overnight. Refreshments and food served up for the conference were excellent, however coffee was a bit strong. They even put on sticky toffee pudding and ice cream for dessert - absolutely delicious Hotel...
