I was looking for something to cheer me up after booking into a nearby hotel that wasn't what the brochure suggested and I found this wonderful place which certainly did the trick. The pub is a beautiful original stone building with the inside decor complementing the exterior; at the time of my visit there was a lovely log fire roaring...

My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at the Cross Swords Inn a few weeks ago. We arrived a little later than planned due to traffic, and the restaurant was about to close. But to our suprise the owner offered to knock us something up and served us some fantastic home made soup and sandwiches (see photo)....

Lovely owners, very accommodating with food requirements, great knowledge of alcohol accompaniments! Had the duck and steak pie, both very good and reasonably priced. Tried the 'batch gin' - great and had 'fever tree tonic' 👏🏻👏🏻 Lovely evening - thanks!

The pictures online just do not convey how lovely this little pub and rooms is. We booked last minute as literally everything else in the area was booked up. We therefore naturally thought that for the price and late availability that we shouldn't expect much. How wrong we were! The little rooms are clean, comfortable and have all the lovely...

Wow!!! Fantastic review, thank you very much for these wonderful comments. We do have our moments, where we are really booked up, we have a very wide and diverse customer base which we have built up over the 25 years of running the Cross Swords Inn, so sometimes we are a little quiet and sometimes it's crazy. This is a small country pub in Skillington, Lincolnshire. It is very quiet. The rooms are separate from the pub and are very clean and comfortable. There is free wifi in the rooms as well as the pub. There is parking immediately outside the room. I slept like a log, as it was so quiet and comfortable. The shower was...

We arranged to check in early as we thought we would be late arriving back from the event we were attending. We arrived at midday to find our room already for us. Harold and Linda are exceptionally good hosts at this traditional English pub/restaurant. We have eaten there on many occasions whenever we visit the area.
