I booked the Garth Hotel as a last minute 2 night break for our wedding anniversary, During the booking process I added a special request for flowers to be placed in the room for my wife on our arrival. This was promptly followed up with an acknowledgement e- mail confirming the request. The flowers were beautiful and my wife loved... More

We had a lovely stay, my kids and myself during our trip in the highlands. Beautiful location, with plenty of opportunities for nice walks in the woods. We liked the atmosphere of this quaint hotel with comfortable and clean rooms (only access can be a bit problematic if you have heavy luggage, the car park is in the back not... More

Not a bad place, but on this occasion, not great. Was shown to our table, gave us menus, the waitress went to see what the soup of the day was, never came back to tell us. My fiancé asked what ales they had, the waiter didn't have a clue and didn't go and find out. We weren't overlay happy with... More

We stayed for 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The twin bedroom (Room 14) was clean and comfortable although a little on the small and dark side compared with modern hotels. Tea/coffee making facilities were provided plus complimentary shortbread. Good-sized bath towels were available along with soap and a range of toiletries (shower cap was a nice touch).... More

The Garth Hotel is well located in the centre of town within easy walking distance of shops, cafes and the museum. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a traditional atmosphere and the decoration reflects its Scottish tradition. Our room was spotlessly clean and had all the necessary items one... More

At least 10th trip back for my wife and I and 26th for our friends! Sadly, a little below par this year with an overall impression of tiredness about the place. Food has traditionally been excellent but not quite up to the consistent high standard this year with sometimes the simple things not being quite right. This is not to... More

Dated but in a good way, decorated in what one would assume was typical "Scottish Lodge" stye. The room and bathroom were a good size and clean. The shower had lots of power and was great after a cold trip on the bike. The staff was friendly but, as the front desk woman was new to the post, she didn't... More

Staff very friendly and food was good. Our room was quite small as was the bathroom, but overall OK for just one nights stay. We happened to pick the week when the weather was wall to wall sunshine, so the outside space was very welcome.

Spacious room in a very comfortable, slightly quirky hotel. Great location close to restaurants etc. although the hotel itself has a very well regarded restaurant- we didn't eat there at night but it was busy with hotel guests and locals the two nights we stayed, Lovely "snug" area with comfortable armchairs and fire available for guests' use. Excellent breakfast in... More
