Beatiful Victoria Country House built in 1860 which has retained many of its original features. It is now a small hotel offering fine food, excellent malts and wines and is ideally based within the heart of Speyside on the whisky and castle trails. Salmon and sea trout fishing on the nearby River Spey, 5 beautiful golf courses, steam train, funicular railway to the top of Cairngorm Mountain are all within easy short distance from the house.

We just had two marvelous nights at Culdearn House in Grantown on Spey, hosted by Mr and Mrs Mitchell. Gracious welcome, lovely room, coat lounge, wonderful selection of Whisky, and absolutely delicious meals created by Mrs Mitchell. Top class Scottish produce, gracious service

I make no apology for a lengthy review, for our stay at Culdearn House was undoubtedly the best holiday we have had for many years. This was a return visit after a brief overnight stay three years ago and my wife and I were delighted to find that the hotel was even better than

Response from wildwullie, Owner at Culdearn House

We are a small private hotel without a night porter and so we take security seriously at Culdearn House which is why, when you asked whether you could let yourselves out at 4.30am, we explained that the door would be locked and alarms set. We were also keen that our other guests were not disturbed at that time of the morning. We were available to unlock the door at 6am although you chose not to leave until 7am after all. We hope you will agree that we accommodated you in other ways by offering tea, coffee and even breakfast when you arrived early on the morning that you were checking in, even though your room was still occupied by guests and check in wasn't until 3pm. We also assisted with allowing you to use our private washing line when you chose to do a large clothes wash in your room. Thank you for your custom.

This hotel has won many awards, both for the standard of rooms and the standard of food. We found the rooms comfortable clean and tidy. The hosts were helpful and well informed. The food was reasonable but not exceptional, the wines were on the expensive side. In summary we
