Stayed 2 nights. Stumbled across this place by chance and could not have found a better place for anyone with even half an interest in walking/touring/wildlife - the staff and support facilities serving the Wildlife Club are fantastic. Beyond that, the hotel facilities are very good with my room being very clean and tidy with good modern facilities and all...

This restored Victorian hotel gives comfortable accommodation and brilliant information and programs for those interested in wildlife. Where else can you have oodles of printed information about surrounding wildlife areas, daily briefings of what can be seen, and a program of evening lectures. Quite astonishing when you think about it. Our room was comfortable: a grand four-poster bed, a desk...

Stayed for one night on business and really was great value for money. Rooms very clean and all staff polite and helpful. I didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment but the Breakfast in the morning was superb. I opted for the kippers and it was tremendous, highly recommended. I'm doing some walking next year in the area and...

Just returned from a four night break at Grant Arms with friends. We have had a wonderful time in the very comfortable surroundings. The rooms were both immaculate and a good size, our bathroom was immense! An excellent range of local produce was on offer with a different menu each night - we all returned having gained a few pounds!...

If it had not been for the surrounding area this would have been a flop of a holiday. The room was cold, took 2 days to generate sufficient heat. Room servicing very poor, worst made bed I have ever seen and the bathroom wasn't properly cleaned. Stayed 7 nights and had tomato soup 3, beef 3, chicken 3 - very...

A nice hotel with good accommodation and public rooms. Staff were efficient and friendly in both reception and restaurant. Food was well presented and well cooked, the only drawback was dining at 7.30 on the two nights certain items on the menu were finished, so dine a bit earlier for full choice. The only personal disappointment was the bar area...

Another great week at this fabulous hotel. The restaurant ran very smoothly despite Pam being away; as always the staff at reception are very welcoming; the only disapoinment was not winning Sue's quiz although we now know what a large number of moles is called! The new BWWT are very friendly and helpful. The addition of new TV sets is...

Have not been for a while after bad experience. Decided to give it another try. Regrettably not overly impressed. Fixed lunch two courses £9.95 and £12.95. Reasonably priced. Although £5 supplement for roast beef on a Sunday lunch menu a bit cheeky !!! Two out of the four of us ordered the mackerel and prawns. It was a very very...

Last weekend saw the Grant Arms packed to the rafters as the Scottish Rock Garden Club ran their annual international conference there. Delegates came from South Africa, Canada and mainland Europe as well as the UK and Ireland. As one of the organisers of the weekend I was totally impressed with the way all the staff responded to the needs...
