My family first used to stay here in the 70s and 80s. They raved about it then and spent many happy Christmases here and I think it was the same family ownership. This was my first stay for many years and can honestly say it as good if not better than it has ever been. The bedroom overlooking the sea was very well furnished with absolutely nothing amiss. Breakfast in the terrace is a delight but dinner in Cafe Cru was the main experience even with Covid restrictions. Food was superb. Steak melted in the mouth and my wife's Dover Sole was huge and cooked to perfection. The thing about the Hotel which stands out and puts it apart from other hotels is the staff. Everyone was helpful, cheerful and was genuinely interested in making the stay as pleasant as possible. Well done 'Imperial' and thank you. Allan Wilkinson

With what is going on globally and Spain trip cancelled, we searched for a dog friendly hotel, and the Imperial came out on top. A great location, just up the road from the pleasure land, and the beach across the road who could ask for more. On arrival, all the H&S issues regarding covid were pointed out, sanitizers on arrival, one way system up/down and this ensured all bases were covered. The staff throughout from checking in to checking out were fantastic. To make things easier, we had our evening meals in the bar area (There is a restaurant but we had the dog)and again the food supplied was excellent. Breakfast in the morning was on the terrace, overlooking the sea and again everyday we was treated fantastic. Our dog had a cough and wore a bell which caused great amusement. To finalise, we will be going back again as our stay was so enjoyable.

My husband booked us a 3 night stay at this hotel. He couldn't of chosen anywhere better. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. As we had our dog with us we were given a dog friendly bedroom, I have to say what a lovely room, very spacious and had everything in that you would need, spare pillows, iron, soap, hair dryer, tea making facilities etc. The food was excellent, dogs are allowed in the bar, terrace & ballroom, one restaurant is kept dog free which is understandable. The service at the hotel is excellent very friendly staff who made us feel very at home, especially Alex who was very attentive and gave us first class service. If we sat in the bar or restaurant our dog was always offered a bowl of water which is a lovely touch. The hotel is situated on the sea front but away from your typical british seaside arcades but near enough to walk to. Its a perfect place to stay to explore Norfolk, and only a twenty minute drive to see the seals further up the beach, we will definitely be staying here again.

The Imperial Hotel is very near the sea front and not far from the main attractions of Gt. Yarmouth. All of the staff that we met were very friendly and helpful. The food was well presented, very tasty - excellent! Our room on the 3rd floor at the rear of the hotel was very comfortable and quiet. The only noise we encountered was from a football match on the sports arena that we overlooked but it certainly didn’t bother us!

There’s a big difference when you walk into a family run hotel where customer care is at the centre of everything they do. From the moment we arrived, throughout our experiences in the excellent restaurant, and with all of the arrangements they’ve made to keep guests and staff Covid safe, our stay was superb. The food in the restaurant is top-notch. Flavours, presentation, originality, and attention to detail deliver very fine dishes at an extraordinarily low price. The beef short rib starter is a work of art. At least once in your life give yourself the treat of staying at the Imperial Hotel.
