Big site with choice of a dog free area. Some electric hook ups in the dog free area, in which my young son and I stayed. Fees were reasonable at £24 for tent, van and one adult and child for two nights in early July. Pitch where you want and there was bags of room for playing kids and a... More

2nd time at the site and again, really enjoyed it. new shower block is a great addition. only negative point (it was a bank holiday so we never expected the site to be quiet)but why oh why did a family with 2 very young children decide to situate their camper van and awning so close to our tent that we... To close all but one toilet on, for 2 days at this very large campsite in the height of the season with several hundred people on site is unbelievable! I realise that there were problems, but alternative arrangements such as porta loos should have been provided. The number of facilities is minimal for the size of the site at the... More

I think the guy that runs this place is a real character....just a dry sense of humour, get over it folks! Great location and pitch where you please in one field or marked pitches in another field. No issues here whatsoever and despite the torrential rain all campers had a whale of a time. Spot on location for the well... More

Spent 2 nights at this site with friends in June (2015), we all commented on the large man who sits in the shop and just seems to moan about how he doesn't get out, I suggest he finds another job, where he doesn't have to deal with the public, cos its definitely not his forte. I returned, for one night... More

We arrived a day late as the weather was dreadful. We were greeted by a very somber gentleman who soon cracked a smile after 5 mins. He turned out to be most helpful, and put many an hour into keeping the shop open. 9am till 10pm There are two toilet/shower blocks. The newer was fantastic for showers which were hot morning... Just one night - late unannounced arrival. Lawrence books me in and I enjoyed his sense if humour - dry and ironic yet welcoming. He used the new CCTV to find me a site to save me driving round in the dark. The shop was well stocked but I have everything I needed. I bought a spare tin if beans.... More

Visited Aug 2015, campsite is nice and area is lovely. However, toilets and shower block a far below average, in fact the worst I have seen in a long time. Very dirty and most of the doors do not even lock. 50p for 4 minutes in the shower!! There is an on site shop, but only open at very irregular... More

The location of this campsite is great and the views lovely. Seeing the steam train run through the top of the site during the day was loved by our 2 year old. Have stayed here twice now and whilst the location is very good, the facilities need a real rethink. 1) Never any hot water to do washing up in... More

This is our kind of camping - field 3 is large and you can pitch where you like. The site was friendly, and quiet even though it was fairly full. The negatives are that the old toilet/shower block isn't very nice - tiles missing, quite dirty when we were there - and the new block is good but mainly showers... More
