We found the hotel centrally located on a busy but quiet street. The staff were marvellous, the room spacious and the breakfast more than enough to set us up for the day. A dinner of perfectly cooked, succulent lamb was excellent. Well worth booking and a great base for exploring the Orkneys.

I stayed here for three nights on business. The owner, Mary, was very responsive and flexible with our changing departure dates due to weather. Stayed in room 212, which was newly refurbished and very clean. The bed was superbly comfortable and the duvet was the best I have ever slept in. Better than my own. The food at the restaurant was also pretty good, I would personally recommend the chilli burger and the haddock with chips. An excellent location and centrally located, 200 metres from the cathedral and Earl’s palace, with Tesco and Lidl a 7 min walk away. Parking readily available as well, we were lucky and scored a spot directly outside the front door. Would recommend.

We would like to thank the Orkney Hotel for such a great week. We returned and were pleased to find the same warm and friendly welcome. Great room and some superb meals... Would highly recommend the steak and hand cut chips and also the fish curry, not to mention the amazing chocolate brownie desert!
