Went for lunch with my wife and wee boy could not be happier with the service and the food was beautiful. The rack of ribs was massive and the linguini with chicken and pesto was 👌. Backed up with helpful and welcoming staff this place has it all!

Nice hotel and the new whisky bar has just been refurbished to a very high standard the hotel is situated in the middle of the town so getting everywhere is easy walking distance the restaurant serves fantastic scallops and the crab cakes are spot on (local crab)

We had dinner here the other evening. The dining room was quite large with only one other table occupied. The lighting was a bit severe and rather reminded me of a school canteen. However, the food was really excellent. I had a soy seared tuna steak on a bed of egg noodles and it was really excellent. Wine by the... More

I loved my stay at the Orkney hotel. The rooms are spacious and large, the restaurant is really good and the bar is absolutely outstanding. There's no elevator, but the staff is happy to take your bag up to your room and help you down with it. All in all, this is the place to stay on Orkney!

The whisky bar is fantastic. It is very well priced, the bar staff are everything you want them to be. Very friendly and knowledgeable. From the moment we arrived we felt as welcome as any of the locals. Really really enjoyed. The bar meals were very good, some of the best food we had on the island. The hotel was... More

We did not stay here but were looking for somewhere for dinner in the centre of Kirkwall and found this hotel. The restaurant is upstairs and a little dated but the food and service were both very good. The restaurant is not well advertised and had had plenty of space on the day we visited.

Great hotel in the centre of Kirkwall.. Oldey worldey in appearance:dates back to late 1600's.. Quite quirky but very enjoyable. Great bar with huge whisky selection.. Rooms are very nice & clean. Good restaurant with friendly staff and nice choices. We used it as a stop off on the way to North Ron and thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh free WiFi..

I was visiting Kirkwall on business with a colleague and we choose The Orkney Hotel due to its positive reviews and location in the heart of Kirkwall. I enjoyed my stay very much. My room was an Executive Single room and had a double bed, desk and everything else I needed. The bath in the bathroom was a good size... More
