Nice quiet place and great welcoming staff. Oh and the breakfast 😍 Good choice if you want to stay away from the city noise, there is a lake near by that I haven't visited yet so will have a look at the other attractions around the area. Recommend!

We had a 2 night stay in this perfect guest house last weekend, with mother-in-law. Upon approach on a late Friday afternoon during torrential downpour, it was a delight to see such an imposing building as we came around the bend. Parking is immediately outside the door to reception, a bonus when unpacking the car in the rain! Felicia greeted... More

I've visited this guest house twice now and have enjoyed both occasions. Both rooms I've stayed in have been nicely furnished, very clean and with lovely comfortable beds and bed linen. The location is very pleasant and within a short walking distance of a reasonable dining pub and Pickmere lake for a nice stroll. The breakfasts are also good with... More

Tony and Felicia went out of their way to assist us. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The English breakfast alone was worth the trip. Highly recommend this charming country house to others. Nearby pubs have friendly people and a cold pint.

The Pickmere is a beautiful guest house in a lovely part of the world. Felicia and Tony go the extra mile to make you feel both welcome and spoiled. The rooms are a delight with small important touches like tissues, magazines and books provided together with the usual tea, coffee, chocolate, soap, shower gel etc. The guest house information book... Up for a wedding, we had the small garden annexe and patio overlooking the boutique garden - very comfortable beds and peaceful too. Great breakfast and considerate hosts - nothing was too much trouble. The olde house was impeccably set out with lovely pics and flower arrangements. After a picturesque walk around the lake dinner, on the Sunday at the... More

Beautiful place and decorated to traditionally with fabulous furniture and decor. Couldn't fault it in any way. We didn't eat here as we were meeting friends but saw some of the dishes being served, traditional fare that looked delicious. We wished we'd booked and will next time. Yummy breakfast too at a very reasonable cost. Definitely would stay again.
