I’ve stayed here a number of times, and I look forward to my visits. Lodge rooms are very good value but can be a bit noisy in term time due to proximity to student accommodation so I recommend accommodation in the main building which is very good and not much more expensive. Main appeals for me at Burleigh: - friendly, professional staff - reasonable price, good quality rooms - decent gym for an overnight stay Downside is the evening meals are pretty expensive with limited choice and I’ve been disappointed on more than one occasion so would suggest exploring a local restaurant. Overall though, Burleigh and partner hotel Link are my top choices for staying in the Loughborough area.
V surprised to find that this hotel is on Loughborough Uni campus. It means you have to go through uni security to get in. And when exiting , my sat nav took me to a different exit where I was told via intercom that I had to go back to the main exit as I was not in possession of a student code! Hotel was okish. Nothing special . Clean , but TV broke down, no fridge, no safe, tap water odd colour and no bottled water. Unless visiting a student would not bother .
I paid £78 for a night in a lodge room. The room was small but had a good size TV and an excellent shower. There was some noise around 11:00pm from students though they were walking by. I found the mattress to be uncomfortable and lumpy and also found the room too hot, even though I switched the radiator off. The exposed large diameter hot water feed pipes still heat the room even if the radiator is bypassed. The gym is excellent and good quality tea and coffee are available. There’s also a fruit bowl in the hotel reception. I’d stay again if I knew the mattresses were better quality.
I wanted to take my wife away for a couple of nights to relax and Burleigh Court was perfect..I would definitely recommend..The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing..We both enjoyed the swimming, jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms..We will be going back very soon.
Went here for Sunday lunch and really impressed. It is carvery which have to say never a massive fan of but this was something else. You pay set amount regardless how many courses you have. £18 for adults and £9 for kids (not sure when kids become adults as when booked they asked so possibly 12) Starters. Soup of the day which was mushroom which was lovely. Then they have a massive selection of fish, there was salmon, mackerel, smoked mackerel and also others. Was mini pots of prawn cocktails if wanted them. Then Italian and Spanish meats plus salad. Could have as much or as little as wanted. I had some salmon, mackerel and bit of salad and then a bowl of mushroom soup (cob provided but staying off bread so didn’t have one) starters couldn’t fault. Then onto mains. Was think 2 selections for veggies which thought nice touch as often just one. Then meats today were beef, gammon and leg of lamb. I went for all 3!! Roasts, mash, new potatoes, home made yorkies. Then veg wise was carrots, peas, broccoli in cheese. There was parsnips but by time I went up these had gone and cooking more so replaced with green beans and cabbage. Gravy and a mixture of sauces. All stunning. Really nice. Onto puddings. Wow!! Selection of about 6 different puddings out to help yourself and can request sticky toffee pudding which my son had and said was fantastic. I had cookie cheesecake and then back up for winter cheesecake. Again both amazing. Great service as well and gets a 10/10 from me.…
