My family enjoyed our 3 night stay at this lovely hotel. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our meals and time on the fantastic terrace. We will definitely be back! Great value all round!

Average hotel - staff very friendly but bar closed early. Rooms were clean but the bed in the room left allot to be desired. The mattress was very poor and was very noisy - worst bed ever. Car parking was limited to four vehicles otherwise park on side of road. Breakfast was ample - limited options. The hotel was however... More

We stayed one night, for which I am grateful . Reception service terminates quite early in the evening so arriving late is a problem. A shoe horn would have helped us both to fit into the room and a loudspeaker to communicate once in our separate beds - 10 feet apart! The place is clean and staff pleasant.

We stayed here for just one night and I'm so pleased it wasn't for any longer. We were given a twin room that was almost 'passage like' with the two beds positioned end to end with a wardrobe between them. The view from the window was a brick wall... I'm attaching photos. At a cost of £75 this was a... More

Unfortunately the hotel is not worth the money the room was shabby and very dated the decor and furniture is tired. The shower room whilst ok could benefit from privacy glass the noise from the extractor in the kitchens in room 4 is not acceptable. Certainly not worth £75 per night. The bar area is ok but the rest is... More

Thank you for your comments I would just like to put the record straight - Your "very old and tired room" is actually chalk painted and distressed which was done in March 2016 at the same time a new bathroom was installed in that room. The bathroom door has frosted glass and I take on your comments and will have the... This was our first visit to The Carlton,we arrived late afternoon and the 4 spaces on the car park were taken so we had to park quite a bit down the road, not too much of a problem just a little inconvenient,we were greeted by a friendly lady who directed us to our room, the entrance, hallway and stairs were spotless and beautifully... Just returned from a stop at the Hotel, Sunday to Saturday, good value for money, morning breakfast was very good for choice and service, which has not always been true on our travels to other locations. In fact the warmth of greeting from the family and staff made this stop the more enjoyable. Payment for room was upfront on arrival,... More
