We held our wedding here in May 2022. We and a large number of our guests stayed Friday and Saturday night. The service was personable and excellent throughout. Our guests were all very happy with their rooms. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a great choice (one of the best we have seen). Nothing was too much for the staff and we were made to feel very welcome. Jess our wedding planner was excellent throughout the whole planning of our wedding, even making the effort to check in with us on the big day. Tiron, Molly and all of the team over the weekend were fantastic. We would definitely recommend the hotel as a wedding venue.
Nice hotel, stayed with family and had 2 rooms booked. Rooms were bit small, dinner and breakfast otpions were good. Location and parking is good. We visited during covid times hence lot of limitations on things. however overall is good
Check in was a shambles and queued for around 45 minutes with only about 5 people in front of us. 2 staff "working" at reception - one doing the check-in and the other watching. Room - Bathroom excellent and the rest good except no sockets/charging points by the bed! Breakfast - to say it was a shambles would be generous. A total insult with food from the previous day reheated. Noone organising arrivals to the restaurant so an informal queue built up in a corridor. The breakfast restaurant wasn't even marked/signed! Just a tatty room with unclean tables full of people sat down confused as to where the staff are! One person who was doing her best was cleaning tables so in the end we cleaned our own. If you had paid extra for this rather than it been included in your room deal I'd imagine you'd be very angry. Complained by the online post visit feedback and got no offer of compensation. First and probably last time I will stay at a holiday inn now I know how low their standards are.…
Liked - The room and breakfast was good. The shower was great and the added addition of the bath robes was a nice touch. Good selection of both hot and cold breakfast options. Disliked · The sheer lack of staff and the knock on effect of this. I attended a wedding and to put it bluntly the bar was a joke, poor standard of beer, lack of draft beers with the Guinness , IPA and bitter all running out early on in the evening, clean glasses were also a problem. Prices are also extremely high compared to your normal, this would be more palatable if the service matched the cost. Only three staff covering two bars all evening with a party of well over 100 thirsty people. Ice ran out and the staff really struggled to keep things going. I must note that this wasn't the fault of the hard working staff and they done their best to cope with a terrible situation, holiday inn management need to take a close look at their current practices, they need to staff and stock big events accordingly.…
My wife and I decided to have a meal here so headed out. Arriving at around 18:45, the parking area was relatively quiet given the size of the hotel. It's many years since I have been in this hotel so we had a slight problem finding the reception. We finally discovered it and on entering, asked the receptionist if the restaurant was serving meals to non residents. Yes it was and after tapping in my car registration, she directed us round the corridors, advising us that the bar was being used for a wedding party, hence the reason a lot of children were running around. Well! There certainly was a group in the bar but wandering around completely deserted corridors, which echoed to our footsteps, finding no sign of a restaurant was almost scary. Absolutely no-one to be seen. No guests, no staff, no likey! Back and forth we went but no sign of what we were looking for then out of the blue, a member of staff appeared and we pounced (on a mission - so no time to spend actually taking us to the location we were looking for). More directions so we retraced our steps and found a room adjacent to the bar with the wedding party (we had passed it twice before) . The tables had wine glasses and cutlery but no menu, waiting staff, reception desk even - simply a square room with doors open into the wedding party. Was this the public restaurant or where the wedding party would be eating? Head to the bar next door where 3 members of staff were having a chat would be able to help - wouldn't they?. Interupting their conversation brought little joy. Simply advised me that we needed to order our food by using the QR code on the tables. Unfortunately neither my wife or I even SAW a QR code and since we would be the only life in the room, decided enough was enough. Well that was the last straw - exit stage left and goodby Courtyard Marriott.…
As we often visit our daughter we have stayed at a number of nearby hotels. Agree we should have been warned our executive room was above a late night very noisy event on Friday. Raised it with, I believe to be Gabriel. She offered a room change as Saturday she told us was a wedding. It did prove louder. We declined but instead kindly offered free breakfast for our daughter. However Sunday Gabriel was not at work and no one was told. Breakfast was terrible. Two waitresses trying their best in a packed dining room that spilled over to the bar. Ordered eggs and veg sausages. Despite a gentle reminder nothing arrived, gave up after 45 mins. In the end checked out despite promise of a free breakfast and paying for ours in advance. We left the hotel. Staff were lovely but expecting 2 to cater for so many. More than disappointing. Our search continues for a decent hotel for our frequent visits.…
First impression was OK, but having to order food online whilst sitting in the dining room because the written menu was out of date was rather poor. Then came ... "THE FRIDAY NIGHT EXPERIENCE"............... MUSIC !.... VERY, VERY LOUD MUSIC.... until 1 am !.... No prior warning ! The gentleman at the desk who eventually appeared said that we should have been made aware it was happening ............... WE WERE NOT ! We were your paying guests, but no consideration given to us at all ! Are we so worthless to you ?
Stayed here overnight when visiting family. From booking in until departure staff helpful and nothing too much trouble. Breakfast served by a delightful lady called Lilly who chatted to us as well as taking order. Bar area spacious and clean. Room clean, airy and overlooked the garden square. Definitely our hotel of choice when next visiting family in the area . 👍 All round.
I had to jump through hoops just to get my invoice for my stay! I expect a receipt on departure to check any outstanding bills. This is the second time this has happened. I just cant get though by phone to the front desk. They are impossible to get hold of! the receptionist gave the same excuse that their system was down and would send it on to my email address. This never happens. Very poor customer service.
Reception management were awful. Refused to help with a mix up regarding late check out, we offered to pay the full nights stay just to have the room for an hour extra, they refused to help. An overly assertive reception manager called my room to berate me for offending his staff, when I questioned what I had done to cause such acute upset he stated “you told her you won’t come back to this hotel” this is both feedback and a fact we will never be back to this hotel and will actively avoid IHG hotels. This all occurred on the morning of my wedding, the reception manager knew this as he checked me into the hotel himself and commented on the fact that I was carrying my wedding dress. Their refusal to help with what was a genuine error meant we had to move all the bridal party, hair and make up artists to my fathers room for the sake of 15 minutes. I work within the travel and tourism sector and was appalled that someone would call me to intentionally cause upset and accuse me of upsetting staff by giving genuine feedback. Members of my family are still staying in this hotel and are seeking out a higher manager to discuss this with. There was a lovely member of staff who coordinates weddings at this particular venue who apologised on his behalf, she had tried to reason with him by offering simple solutions, for this I am very grateful. Up until a few days prior to my stay I had the room booked for 3 nights, the hotel car park was virtually empty and we seen very few other guests - I don’t understand why it was such a big deal to them.…
