We stayed here as a group and loved our stay - the rooms were comfortable and there were lots of spaces where you could get together as a group - we had a picnic on the terrace and used the living room on both evenings. The breakfast was also great - there was a lot of choice and they were...

Fab little place, with great breakfasts. Rob the owner is lovely, laid back, and it does what it says on the tin. Great location with easy walking round the lake. I'm not a fisher, I was there for a wedding, makes me want to try fishing!

We spent two nights here to break the journey to Northumberland, The Lodge is in a wonderful location, very peaceful and right by Rutland Water. The accommodation was good and the breakfast superb. Than you Rob.

Many thanks for that nice review, it was lovely to see you both. We are still open through the Autumn and Winter (not Christmas week though) with great wildlife, bird watching, cycling and fishing just outside the doorstep. The Autumn sunsets seen from the guest lounge are breathtaking. Thanks again and hope to see you again soon. Rob

Excellent breakfast, the whole experience confirmed a need to upgrade, invest and generally smarten up the accommodation. Expensive for the facilities provided. Our room was to a very mediocre standard, tired and old fashioned, the only TV was in the guest lounge, an ancient 25inch CRT that used worn out remote and painful responses to commands.

Oh dear Tony, I'm so sorry that you didn't have the experience we wanted to give you. All rooms have been renovated, modernised and redecorated over the winter and most people do like that quiet room, which you booked on the Saturday night. I take your point about the telly though, I must get a new one for the guest...

Just come back from a family break at Rutland Water. Lovely position on the water with great views from the lounge. It felt like a home from home. The breakfast was fantastic and the service without fault. The lounge was comfortable as were the rooms. Will definately be back :)

Stayed here for two nights as part of a Fly Fishing trip with Rob. He is an excellent host and looked after us very well. The location is brilliant, right on the waters edge, teeming with wildlife and very quite (about a mile from the main road (A606). Everything was clean and tidy and we had an excellent breakfast, no...

Rob's a great host, very welcoming, nice bedrooms, clean, good guest lounge, great breakfast and worth paying extra to try his home made cold smoked trout for breakfast. We had 4 poster bed lakeside view our three adult boys shared a double and single bed in triple room. Real treat to be right by the lake.

Rob is a very genial host at this lovely B and B with a Great Lake view. The lake view room was very comfortable, abundant toiletries in the bathroom and the use of the lounge an added extra. The breakfast area, however is just outside the lake view room. As breakfast is served from 7.30 and if you have opted...

Thanks for the lovely comments. you make some good points there also. We now have fresh fruit and I'll do the yoghurt option, it'll make a nice option for guests, thanks for the nudge. Sorry about the 7.30 breakfasters, I'll try and keep it quieter, luckily we don't have many early requests. All the best Rob
