We sneaked away for a cheeky birthday weekend without the kids to Ross on Wye. This hotel made a great base for exploring Ross, the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley. Our room was traditional and well-sorted and the shower room was modern and clean. On the first night of our stay we dined in the restaurant and had...

Just had 3 nights here with friends. Would definitely recommend for a short break. Had room 12 on the second floor which was really spacious. As previously mentioned though it would be no good for anyone with mobility issues. Bed was comfortable, good hot beverage tray with biscuits and complimentary bottled water. The breakfasts were lovely with lots of choice...

We stayed here for two nights in room number 3, which had the four poster bed. Room was fairly small but we were fine with that as it was spotlessly clean. Bathroom looked newly renovated and had a lovely large walk-in shower. Great position in the centre of town with plenty of free parking at the hotel. Our room overlooked...

Great hotel with bar and restaurant downstairs. We had the family room with bathroom inbetween adjoining rooms. There were twin beds in one room and a double in the other room. Really comfortable bed and plenty of room for suitcases and clothes. Had a lovely English veggie breakfast in the morning before heading off to explore the town. Staff were...

A birthday treat to visit one of my favourite towns and hotel and we were not disappointed again. The room was spotless warm and well equipped with all items required. The beer was top notch and it was really good to relax in the " library " and chill out with my papers. The food in the restaurant was again...

The Kings Head Hotel is very well located, close to the centre of Ross on Wye. There is a small free carpark at the back of the hotel, reached through a narrow arch. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms that my friend and I had were comfortable, clean and of a good size. Although the building is...

Generally a lovely overnight stay. The room (10) was lovely, the food (both dinner and breakfast) was excellent and the service top notch other than the gentleman on reception who was a little offhand when we were checking in. If you are a light sleeper or like the bedroom window open at night I would sleep on the back as...

This hotel is centrally located in Ross and has its own car park, which is handy. Whilst there was nothing wrong with the accommodation (all facilities working, comfortable room/bed etc.), the hotel itself is looking very tired and in need of a refurb. The reception area is certainly not inviting and is somewhat chaotic and the staff do not look...

Good value for money and the hotel is in the middle of Ross on Why. Good restaurant and good service. Easy access to nice walks and I can recommend the Daffodils walk 4,5 to 5 hours walk with nice pubs half way.

We stayed for a 2 night weekend break. We arrived early and were welcomed for breakfast and one of our rooms was ready to check in to, which was great. The bar area has a great buzz. The food is the restaurant was tasty. The breakfasts were amazing and certainly set us up for the day. Can recommend.
