Having visited this establishment several times to eat I thought the next time we visit we can stay there. I booked a chalet as we have two dogs. When we arrived we were welcomed with a miserable young lady who obviously didn't like her job and was told we were in room 11. We went to the room to put... More

Rude unhelpful staff. Our bags had been delivered but we were told they had not arrived. I was told I was rude for enquiring why a single room cost as much as a double room. The whole place needed redecoration - paint peeling off, scruffy carpets.

We wanted to to have lunch at Ye Olde Ferrie Inn in Symonds Yat but found the place closed for 24 hours due to renovations. We then went to Inn on the Wye ( getting lost for half hour) GPS signal was non existent ( something peculiar in Gloucestershire) pretty looking inn but not in the river in spite of... More

We ordered our food, it didn't come. We asked the woman where it was she said 'it's been given to another table' this was rubbish as our order was very precise and different, when we asked the man where our food was he said 'there's been a delay because it's busy' Two different stories. In reality the woman had not... More

We stayed in a chalet because we have a small dog. When we opened the door we were greeted by a damp smell, the window frames had mould on them, so had the tiles in the bathroom and shower, also,no hook on the door for clothes or rail for towels. The bedding was clean and fresh, but I could feel... More

You can't see the river eye from the pub, canooing/walkers have to tramping through a field to get to pub. Very nice decor. BUT had to wait 1 1/2 hrs for our food, kept getting told that "it's coming" they eventually confessed that the chef was going to start our meal. Half of our party had to leave due to... More

We dropped in here, soaked to the skin having been caught in a downpour, just for a hot drink. Even though there was a wedding reception going on, and we were dripping everywhere, we were made most welcome. So much so, that next time we are visiting the Forest of dean, we will certainly stay here.

Stayed for 1 night in one of the chalets, clean and tidy with tea/coffee facilities. Very quiet area so had dinner here, quite pricey but well cooked fresh ingredients (8oz sirloin £15). Breakfast next morning was lovely, choice of cereal, yoghurt, toast and juice. Full English or any variation cooked to order.
