Visited for lunch and wish we had read reviews re the food beforehand, granted it is a lovely location and very popular, so cannot understand why in this day and age, that the food they serve is just so awful.... Their menu claims all food is FRESHLY prepared on the premises..... There is nothing fresh about any of what we... More

We visited as a couple for dinner and it was a warm evening so sat on the wooden tables outside. I got up to go in and order and felt something catch my shorts but thought no more. Inside the bar was dirty and dusty and everything was sticky even when I picked up the laminated menu that I took... More

Basically (as other reviewers have said), the location by the river is great, with a large garden and plenty of parking off the street, we found the staff friendly enough (although they messed up one of our three simple orders), but the pub itself is tatty, the stairway up to the toilets was decrepit (not sure what wheelchair users would... Such a lovely location to sit by the river and enjoy a drink.....I would leave it at that though. Plenty of other places to eat and I would suggest you, I urge you to! The food was took over 2 hours to arrive, apparently only 1 cook, and when it did arrive it was bland and either fried or microwaved.... More

We stopped here as a family with the dog after walking around Ross on Wye and decided to have some lunch before we took a walk along the river. The setting for this pub is stunning set back from the river with a beautiful garden for you to sit in so we thought where better.. however this pub needs some... More

Well I must say that when I pay £32 for four sandwiches, two bowls of chips and four cokes I expect more than a sandwich made with what was obviously a Morrisons 50p sliced family loaf. Come on guys, join the rest of the gastro pub revolution and at least invest in some crusty tiger bread or a nice fresh... More

Stayed here for one night,......on arrival at the pub my friend and I went to the bar to let them know we had arrived but knew we couldn't book in as we were early but to start with we were ignored and the bar staff served others before dealing with us and it seemed that the locals/regulars came first, eventually... Nice view and nice carrot cake but when my teacup and spoon came out dirty it was enough to put me off for life. Now seeing the rest of the reviews it looks like a common thing. I couldn't help but take a photo! I definitely wouldn't be eating here!
