Had a few days camping with some fishing friends on the small campsite that belongs to and ajoins the White Lion beer garden. Theres only space for small 2 man tents and bivvys, but its perfect for anglers and canoeists. Beautiful riverside location. The pub serves good food in generous portions. Theres a great range of real ales and local... More

New owners are like a breath of fresh air, everything is neater and the gardens are much smarter, would recommend to all! Views across the river Wye are stunning, food is great. Locals complete the overall experience, a wonderful afternoon.

My wife and I with two friends met in Ross on Wye (them from Manchester, us from North Devon) to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary. We stayed near the White Lion, not knowing they had accommodation, but went for lunch on our first day having met up. The situation is great, we sat in the garden overlooking the RIVER WYE... More

Earlier in the day, we had been hunting down ciders at the Yew Tree Inn in Peterstow (which is run by the Broome Farm cider makers) and decided that having purchased a few gallons, we would have a look around near by Ross On Wye for a while. On the short drive into Ross we though we would find a... More

We visited for an evening meal, the staff were very friendly and gave great service. The food was excellent with really good size portions. The dining area had great views over the river and there is outside seating for use in good weather.

Just eat the best fish and chips I've ever had. Huge piece of fish wonderfully cooked with crispy batter. My wife had the ham baguette that she said was delicious. Great food, make sure your hungry as the fish and chips is a big portion. Highly recommended.

We decided to take a small family holiday. Our two children at four and one loved the area and that was largely down to the friendly staff who attended to our every need. The food was perfect and offered a true pub grub menu with excellent prices and superb portion sizes. You could tell the food was of a high... More

Visited the white lion on the way back from a family holiday in Wales this Sunday . The pub was very busy ,despite this the service and staff were very friendly and efficient .the Sunday lunch was out of this world and very reasonably priced . Would definitely visit again if we are in this part of the country again
