We had booked this b&b last year as we were attending a wedding. Obviously that didn’t happen so we wanted to use our deposit. We arrived on the Sunday on one of the hottest days of the year. Our room was on the lower ground floor, so it was a little dark but delightfully cool. The bed was large & extremely comfortable, we had the usual complement of tea, coffee etc. The shower room was very small but perfectly designed, with a very efficient shower, complimentary shower gel, shampoo & conditioner. Everything was spotlessly clean & we had everything we needed. Pauline, the owner, was very resourceful & had made slight alterations to the way breakfast was served due to the COVID restrictions. We ate in her attractive dining room with a lovely oval table which would normally seat possibly 12 people. There was one other couple eating at the same time as us at the other end of the table. The breakfast was wonderful. There were various cereals, fruit, yoghurts, toast, We both sampled the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on our first morning, which was lovely - the helpings were enormous. My husband had the full English on our second morning which was delicious. There was a small parking area for about 4 cars. It took about 10 minutes to walk down to the town centre & longer to walk back as it’s all uphill! From the town centre it’s easy to get to a beach either on foot, car or ferry. For our 2 night stay this was the perfect choice. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

We had a lovely two night stay at this B&B, hosted by Pauline.
Our room (6) was very comfortable, with a couple of comfy chairs and a table as well as the impressive bed. Good selection of tea/coffee/biscuits provided. Very good wifi.
Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of delicious cooked options available as well as the usual cereals/fruit/yoghurt/juice etc.
Location is very close to the town centre, less than a 10 minute walk (uphill going back, as most places will be)
Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our 5 nights at the Waverley. Due to Covid restrictions we were given a room with a very spacious and comfy bed in the self contained apartment. Lovely breakfast choice that we ordered the previous evening with a timeslot as well.
Our host Pauline gave us lots of useful tips on our walking plans along the Coastal Path and gave us info. only a lovely walk to Snapes Point on the opposite side of the estuary with great views of Salcombe..

We were just a 10 minute walk down Devon Road and then down some steps to Fore St. where the shops pubs and restaurants were. We did have a climb back but you could come up another road as an alternative. Great advantage having parking here as well. Highly recommended.

Comfy rooms, such a friendly host and perfect location. Breakfasts are really good too. Pauline is great, very knowledgeable and funny. This was our second visit this year. This time we were downstairs in room 4. We love this location, we walk to the town and the beaches and having off road parking is a big plus.

Stayed here on a couple of separate occasions, while walking the SWCP, first time in room 3 which was excellent, with a king size and single bed, tv, tea making facilities and an adjoining shower room/toilet, along with a very good lounge area.

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

Second time we were in room 1 which was also delightful (twin beds) with a very good shower.

Excellent WiFi and breakfast. Very good value (does not accept credit card payments.)

It is situated on a steep hill about ten minutes walk from the town centre, in a quiet area.

We stayed for a week in June, the weather could not have been better.
Our room was accessed by stairs on the side of the house we had use of an open plan lounge/ fully equipped kitchen, as the weather was fantastic we did not make use of this, but would be great if you had a wet week.
Pauline was an excellent host with lots of knowledge of the local area.
Breakfast was served in the dining room around a large table which accommodates all guests.
Good choice of cereals, juice etc, your cooked selection is prepared for you fresh.

Excellent stay

This was our second visit here and this time we stayed a whole week. Pauline made us very welcome and lots of advice about where to go and what to do.
Salcombe is such a special place and the Waverley is a superb place to stay in a central location with all important parking!
Looking forward to our next visit.

Had a lovely stay in the Waverley Guest house, had a lovely room in the basement which was good as it kept cool, lovely decor and comfortable bed, the breakfast was really nice with fresh fruit everyday nice cooked breakfast. Pauline the owner was really nice and helpful lovely to chat to. The guest house is up a hill so kept us fit, it’s a good 5 mins walk to town, but great to have a parking space , if you go to Salcombe you need to book all your meals in advance ,
