Highly recommend. I would not hesitate to stay again. The staff are very very helpful in an unobtrusive way and I witnessed a very very rude client handled with great care and professionalism. The young waitress involved at no time lost her Kool and was obviously being goaded by a horrible client who became worse as she became better. The...

This hotel requires the guests to be super fit as there is NO lift and our room was on the third floor. Even the small lift from the car park to reception ( which has recently beeninstalled ) was out of order, As a listed building there are obviously issues regarding the installation of a lift, but a building with...

A lovely hotel, the food is fantastic and it right in the middle of town, rooms are very nice and clean. Lots of people coming and going but the hotel had a lovely atmosphere, drinks are very expensive though.

Just spent two nights at The Bedford. The staff were all friendly and helpful and made my elderly mother and I feel very welcome. A disabled car park space was saved for us and the room was warm, comfortable, clean and well designed for my mother who finds it difficult to get about. Even though the hotel was very busy...

Slap bang in the middle of town, but pleasantly quiet, a fine piece of architectural history giving all the impression of a castellated fortification, could not be further from the smiling welcome inside. The young lady checking me in, the young man at the bar and the chap who served my dinner were polite and attentive without being intrusive. Had...

We had an excellent private group lunch which was well organised and of top quality. The private "Portrait Room" was an excellent location and the organisation went beyond expectations, including the reservation of a disabled parking space for one of our guests. The food quality and quantity was superb and enjoyed by everyone. The historic listed hotel has kept pace...

As a frequent visitor to The Bedford for a number of years we know the excellent standards that have been achieved in the past. On this visit the staff, food etc all met and probably exceeded these high standards. However the stay was disappointing as our usual room was not particularly clean. On complaining to reception, apologies were offered, and...

How long should you wait for your companion's plate to be delivered before you begin eating? The Bedford stretched this beyond the bounds of good manners making us feel uncomfortable. Our starters were delivered on a plank as a small tray. This was forgiven but the mean blob of relish was smeared on the wood itself. Yuk! I should have...
