This B&B is more like a home from home. Bill & Caroline made us very very welcome A beautifully decorated home with eclectic furnishings. A very comfortable bed with top class shower facilities I can't rate the breakfast any lower than excellent Situated only a few minutes walk from the centre of town with a top class wine bar /... This is a small B&B run by a nice couple. Rooms are decent sized, but dark. Breakfast is held in the solarium. The gardens are beautiful. It's easy to get to surrounding towns for touring. Wallingford has a number of good restaurants.

A nice retreat in the countryside, run by a very nice couple. There are only two rooms each small, one with bathroom and the other with bathroom two steps across the landing. Both rooms are on the top floor up two very steep staircases so it is a bit to lug to get bags up and down. Very nice grounds,... More

Visited Wallingford (Causton) as part of our Midsomer Murder Discovery Tour ( and we survived). The Old School House is an ideal location only five minutes walk from the centre of Wallingford where there is a regular bus service to Oxford and Henley (30 mins) so the car can be abandoned. Location sets for Midsomer, Morse, Endeavour, and Lewis are... More

B&B descriptions can be one thing and reality another; however, in this case the two worlds collide. We stayed in the stunning Moroccan Suite with a private bath and a view of the garden. The bed was of cloud quality but with more support. The bathroom was large, updated yet charming. The house is filled with an eclectic decor that... More

Carolyn and Bill were very warm and welcoming. My visit was lovely and peaceful, exactly what I was looking for in a restful break. Breakfast was tasty and made to order, the room was cosy and warm and the rest of the house had charm and character. Will definately recommend and come back again. Jenny from Banbury

The Old School house offers two types of room; I chose the Moroccan Suite, and it is an easy walk into the town centre. The room is on the first floor (a wide staircase, easy to navigate), it was very warm, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is large with good hot water, and the view into the garden is... More

As our mini-honeymoon we have recently spent two nights in The Old School House in Wallingford. We couldn't pick a better location. The B&B is gorgeous and very clean. Hosts, Carolyn and Bill, are very friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. They also make amazing breakfasts :) Thames path provides beautiful walks even in December. We will... More

Carolyn and Bill are warm and welcoming hosts and their house is beautiful. I stayed in the well appointed Moroccan Suite which had everything one could need (including a comfy bed and strong and consistent wifi) and really enjoyed Bill's (as I see from earlier reviews!) trademark salmon and scrambled eggs. An excellent place to stay.

Our trip to Wallingford and the surrounding area was motivated by watching a British show called Midsomer Murders. We were not that interested in the actors or story lines, but the beautiful scenery caught our attention years ago. We finally had the opportunity to go and were not disappointed. If anything the area was even more beautiful and interesting than... More
