Been to this quaint-looking village hotel three or four times now and never been very impressed, either with service or quality. However, we were never paying before so didn’t want to complain or bite the hand that feeds. Until today. We arranged a funeral wake here at the

Hello Mrs Head I have read your review of the recent wake you attended at Findon Manor Hotel yesterday and we are rather shocked by your comments. We did indeed have three wakes at the manor on Thursday and you had reserved the Ascot Suite which you commented earlier prior to the burial that it was lovely it opened up onto the garden. Later when you asked about moving a table outside I came to your assistance and throughout the majority of the time you was in your Suite there was a young lady in attendance to help you. The sandwiches were just finished prior to your arrival along with the other sandwiches for the other funerals so could not have been any fresher, and according to EHO standards and this is documented. The sandwiches were trayed up on platters with an array of fillings and there were certainly a lot more than you have said and in order to come to this statement you would have had to count them at the beginning and divide by the number of people .The scones are made in the morning as they need to cool before the jam and cream is placed on them. The drinks which you requested a bar tab for was put onto your bill as you had requested to pay, I offered you the bar receipt at the desk. I also removed the unopened wines which you told me had not been consumed when you came and asked to pay. I noticed before passing you the bill that the deposit had not been taken off and I confirmed it was £100 and put onto the invoice The two other wakes we had in did have similar menus as yours, prepared at the same time and to our normal quantities. Both thanked us and shook hands with the owner when they were leaving. To warrant such a review it is a shame despite the difficult day for you we were not given the opportunity to rectify any issues you felt you might have and certainly our food is not "bad" or of poor quality. You state that you have visited Findon on various occasions over the years and therefore I am surprised that you mentioned lack of competition etc. I regret your adverse comments and can only say that your opinions are at the other scale of the reactions from our other comments both that day and in general

Had a recent one nighter here on a Sunday. Very quiet and peaceful and the room was very nice overlooking the gardens. We were in Aldaniti (they're all named after Grand National winners from local stables) and it was roomy and airy. Bath is a small one but the shower area is

This quaint country hotel would have been a delight if we were not woken up by a fire alarm at 04:30 hours caused by a technical fault. I quote a response to my concern from the hotel’s general manager Wendy Lewis: “The alarm system is there to protect guests and had recently

What room would we be offered with our small pet dog?
Dear Carolyn, The room we would offer you depends on your choice between one of our superior rooms or one of our standard rooms, we only have two rooms in which we allow dogs to stay with us. These are both ground floor rooms in which have easy access to the garden, the standard room is named Kybo and the superior room is named Bradbury star. Kindest regards Luke Hargadon Findon manor hotel
