We stayed here for the second time and it serves our purpose, staff friendly, rooms are fine for a short break, be aware breakfast is cereal etc a surcharge of £2.50 for a full cooked. Not a major issue but not clear when booking. Breakfast was lovely and cooked to order. I will use this hotel again for sure.

Mermaid Hotel is a building with several beds. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want a cheap hotel, then this is the cheapest you will get in Yeovil. However, you get what you pay for. I would not recommend this hotel to someone who expect anything more than that.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions with both work and leisure. It is a typical family run establishment, I have stayed in many places in both Yeovil and around Somerset. I have always found the staff to be polite and helpful. It is without a shadow of a doubt my favourite place to stay in Yeovil. I have stayed... More

I am sure like everyone else If I stayed in a hotel and it was as bad as you have described this one to be then I certainly would not have repeated the experience. You're review seems very odd to me. Whilst the hotel has its faults it most certainly is not a dump. It can be noisy I agree.... More

I visited this establishment on a business trip to yeovil. Was welcomed with a warm welcome by the very friendly staff. Extremely helpful. I parked my car in their back car park, but as I had to leave before the gate was normally opened (at 7 ish) I asked the manager of the hotel could I organise to get my... More

Awful visit, uncomfortable bed, no breakfast as promised got told would have to pay extra, cost not worth the room. Our family room insisted of 3 single beds, wires everywhere, unsafe window, mould all over bathroom and very uncomfortable beds.

This hotel has live music on at weekends and can be a little on the loud side depending on the group. It was great as we enjoy a good band, and being in the heart of Yeovil town it's what you'd expect. The bar is very cosy although a bit dark on a sunny day with a good selection of... More

The only reason you should stay here is to show you that the last place you gave a bad review actually wasn't that bad. The room is like a furnace and the fixtures and fittings are falling apart. The bedding hasn't been ironed. The walls have holes. The shared shower and toilet is broken. I could go on and on... More

After a 4 hour drive I was left standing at the bar for 20 minutes to be served the room keys, get informed they don't have a key for 1 of the rooms, finally get get keys and go to room, pokey, smelly, faded sheets, pubic hairs in most beds, shower door falling off, no teaspoon, minimal...
