7 of us stayed for an mtb trip. It worked perfectly for us. It is a beautiful location, the bike store was great, the staff were polite and helpful and the food was good. The bedrooms could do with more plug sockets and it is a shame that WiFi provision is via third party sign up, especially with the lack of signal, but otherwise Ravenstor met our needs perfectly.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. I am glad you had a good trip, we are in a great location for mountain biking with some great local trails and the MTB mecca of Hope Valley just a short drive away. We are currently looking into installing extra sockets in each room. We hope to see you again in the future.

Stunning location in the Dales. Try the pizza but only if you're hungry. Very friendly staff. Room spotless as was dining room. Plenty of car parking very close to the hostel. Plenty of opportunity to stretch your legs and take in the views starting in the hostels grounds.

The youth hostel is in an beautiful location with stunning views. We loved to eat on the outdoor terrace with the view over the hills. A number of fantastic walks start right from the YHA no need to drive. You can even walk in the next door village to do the shopping.

Yha Ravenstor is in a beautiful location (great walks) and the hostel itself is charming, as are the staff. The self catering kitchen is inadequate re cooking space and sinks especially. The shower pipes noise in room 11 is awful in the morning, and we also had bad drains smell! I would recommend a stay here; shame the cost is on the high side.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I will pass on your kind words to the staff team. I was not aware of the pipe noises, apologies for this disruption, I will be looking in to the issue. We hope to welcome you again in the future.

Just returned from a four night stay here. This hostel is pretty big, with most rooms on the first floor. Our room was one of only three on the second floor, which meant going downstairs for the bathroom/showers, although it was pretty cosy and meant we weren't next to the large school group occupying the floor below, which was fine with us. This hostel I think mainly caters for groups, and so the kitchen was quite small as presumably large groups always book the full board option. This was fine with us as it meant we more or less had the kitchen to ourselves. The kitchen was cleaned every day we were there, tea towels replaced and everything wiped down (except the bin lid was a bit gross!) - the staff were really thorough which is actually the main thing for me when self-catering. The hostel has a large separate lounge which is great for a bit of peace and quiet in the evenings and the grounds are huge and really nice to explore, with a woodland area and a large lawn. The hostel is just off the Monsal Trail and we hired bikes at Wyedale and did the return journey to Bakewell from there. Castleton, Eyam and Buxton are all very close by too. The staff were especially helpful at this hostel and myself and the children really enjoyed our stay here. We will definitely return here :)
