First, the hotel is in Buxton, one of the nicest towns in the country, and it is just across the road from the beautiful Opera House. Being on crutches and chemotherapy, the location and parking bays alongside the hotel, make this useful for me, especially when I was told at reception that parking with blue handicapped card displayed was FREE...

stayed in this hotel as a birthday treat from friends and it was excellent. We stayed in an executive room which was large, warm and well furnished in keeping with the hotel. The bathroom was also large and warm with plenty of towels and hot water although the shower curtain did smell stake. We were there on the "winter warmer" which...

Being only 3 mins walk from the station and right next to the Opera House and shops , this hotel is very conveniently located. My room was a bit cramped which is often the case in old buildings where they have made sure to include every amenity , including good hospitality tray and complimentary water. The staff were very pleasant...

I am very happy to see you found the staff friendly and helpful: customer service is extremely important to us. We do have different classifications of rooms and these do vary in size. My wife and I have just had a really lovely overnight stay in the historic Old Hall Hotel in Buxton. A wonderful building which dates from the 16th century - a rabbit warren of corridors and intriguing rooms! The staff are really friendly and welcoming and the food is very good if rather on the expensive side. Park outside the...

Stayed one night on business as part of a group. Centrally located within Buxton, but with limited metered on street parking ( ticket available from reception upon checking in). Charming old hotel with lots of character and quirks for a building of it age. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff welcoming and helpful especially in the restaurant where the food...

My wife and I stayed for one night as a little break from home. The hotel is easy to find, and once parked you don't need the car at again until you leave. I had asked for "a romantic room" and the room we were given (28) was beautiful: spacious, old-fashioned in a good way and with a nice bathroom....

We stayed one night in this rather quaint and charming hotel. I had booked a 'Winter warmer break' in an 'Executive Room' in preference of a 'Standard/Classic Room', as the website states these rooms are '...large, spacious and luxurious with comfortable seats and furnishings....' and that 'Fluffy Bathrobes' are provided. The room we were allocated was room 10 which is...

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on TripAdvisor. I am sorry to see the stay did not meet the highest expectations in which we aim for. Room 10 is one of our lovely executive rooms which can sleep up to 3 people. As it is classed as an executive room there should have been bathrobes in...

My wife and I despite living within a 10 mile radius decided to book a room as we were meeting friends at The Old Hall before going to a concert at The Opera House.
