There were areas where this hotel excelled . It is beautiful and a clear step back in time. Breakfast was good and the rooms spacious and comfortable. My only bugbears are: The lack of smoking area forcing smokers to stand outside of the front of the hotel; equally forcing guests to walk through the clouds of smoke to enter the... More

One of the oldest, if not the oldest, hotels in UK, so they say. We stayed for 3 nights in August while going to a local wedding. The room, an executive one, was excellent, spacious and well appointed. Despite overlooking the street it was very quiet. The bathroom was well equipped with all the usual stuff, but no soap! A... My partner and I stayed at the Old Hall Hotel for 3 nights in mid August. The room was a really good size as was the ensuite which had a full sized bath. The hotel was very pleasant having a good balance of modern and historic features. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times; the food was excellent... More

We visited Buxton for just a day and found the Old Hall quite pleasant. It is located in the centre of town with access to the gardens, Opera etc. Staff were very helpful and kind. Evening meal and breakfasts were delicious and served in pleasant surroundings. However it is an very old hotel and as such, does not have updated... More

We had our wedding lunch, wedding breakfast and evening reception at Old Hall Hotel on 20 August after our civil ceremony at the Pavilion Gardens and had the most perfect day we could have imagined. From our first meeting with Emma our wedding coordinator, nothing we asked for was too much trouble, and it was great working with such a... More

We went there to attend a wedding. The service was good. Food were fantastic and its very spacious. U go to one place and you end up in another place. Its an old hotel but its beautiful and full of character which i believe they kept from the old built. Definitely good for wedding as there seem to be series... More

We stayed here on a stopover on our way up to Scotland. After a stressful journey (breakdown, town truck etc) we really managed to relax here. We stayed in the loft room which was great as we were travelling with our 5-month old son and the room has a little kitchen where we could set up his steriliser and wash... More

We were staying in a Buxton hotel without a restaurant (it was under refurbishment) and were pointed in the direction of several near-by properties and just happened to choose this one. We ate in the Wine Bar; the staff were very friendly and the menu was excellent and varied. When the food arrived, it was perfectly cooked and the quantities... More

Me and my friend stayed in Room 26 named Mary's Bower on Thursday 11th August 2016 after seeing Death Toll in Buxton Opera House. We had heard that it was haunted so before we went to bed I decided to turn all the lights off and do some calling out as inspired by the TV Programme Most Haunted. A few... More

Stayed here this weekend for two nights for a friends wedding. Got to the room for it to be pokey and everywhere you stood creeked! The floor was wonky and you literally walk up and down hill, the bed was creeky the head board hits the wall every time you move so had to put a pillow behind it. The... More
