Stayed in the Bruce Willis room, there are photos of celebrities everywhere. The staff was friendly and meet the needs we required, our dog was welcome, and there's a nice river walk nearby he was happy to play around on. The room was huge with plenty of room to stretch out, although the TV seemed a bit puny compared. A...

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Its in a good area, walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. On arrival it was lovely and warm and just very old with lots of character which to be fair me and my husband like. However we was not prepared for a room decorated with framed posters of...

This hotel had real character, after reading the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. We stayed in the Harrison Ford room, bit odd but was clean and had a lovely bathroom with a slipper bath. We walked into town for tea which was around a five minute walk and again the next morning. Buxton is a beautiful place and...

On arrival there was plenty of free parking in the hotels car park then we had a warm welcome at the reception and our room was ready for us at 1pm instead of a 3pm check in as stated. Our room was large, clean and plenty of tea/coffee supplied. The bathroom was clean and toiletries were provided. The bed linen...

My husband and myself stayed here for 2 nights after booking an impromptu trip to Buxton. I'd read some of the reviews and they were pretty much mixed so we thought we'd chance it. Yes, the hotel is very tired and worn. The curtains in our room were all but falling off the rails. I didn't dare sit on 1...

Only decided to stay over in Buxton for New Years Eve a few days before. All other hotels fully booked. Reviews generally poor for this hotel so went with very low expectations but simply needed a bed for the night and the location was excellent for the Opera House and many restaurants. On arrival we found ample parking, pleasant check...

Having read some of the very damning reviews on trip adviser, it was with some trepidation that we booked into the Buckingham for two nights. First impressions on entry was that it was a , little worn and old fashioned , however we were greeted warmly by the lady on reception and given keys to room 15 on the second...

I was a little concerned about some of the reviews this place had. Largely unfounded I guess. The place is old - Victorian or early Edwardian I guess and not had any serious work on it for a while. It is an old building with each room converted to en-suite as is the norm these days. This means the rooms'...
