I was travelling with five others to Chatsworth House xmas market on Friday and we stayed at the Palace Hotel for three days. The twin room on the second floor was comfortable and warm. The food was very good and there was a good choice each morning and evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but there was a... More

No hot water in room until early evening. No WiFi. No heating, except a very small electric heater (completely useless), which took up one of the three plug sockets (the TV took up another, so if you wanted to watch TV with the ineffectual heater on, that left one socket free. Bad news if you have two phones to recharge,... More

Stayed at hotel with a coach trip, over the week-end, Hotel has plenty of character, but does need upgrading. The staircase is very impressive, and Hotel was clean and food was v good. One downside room 329 had no working radiator or towel rail, there was a small heater in room which suggests this an ongoing problem. Reported problem but... More

We stayed just one night on Sunday 27 November 2016 as we were going to a show at Buxton Opera House. The Palace is easy to find & good access with plenty of parking at £4.50 for 24 hours in the hotel grounds. Quick & easy check in, we were travelling with another couple & our rooms were located close... More

Stayed at the hotel recently. Beautiful entrance hall and staircase. Room was fine but radiators in bathroom and bedroom did not work at all for the 3 nights of our stay. This was reported twice but nothing was done.to put things right. A small portable heater was in the bedroom and this had to suffice. Luckily, it was not too... More

This hotel has charm in bucket loads. Other reviews have focused on the fact that it is a bit "tired", which is true but it is clean, full of character and in a great location. The entrance hall and main staircase are very imposing as is the high ceiling in the dining room. Breakfast was self serve from the buffet,... More

We purchased a Groupon voucher for 3 course Sunday lunch for two with a glass of wine. we traveled 1 half hours. On arriving we were told to sit where we wanted and then go help ourselves to the buffet that was the last we saw of the staff except when they delivered the watered down wine.Starter tasteless soup couldn't... I went with a group of friends to the Palace Hotel Buxton for 2 nights on a coach holiday. The room was quiet and had most things you would need. The TV seemed stuck on subtitles which was disconcerting as they were out of sync with the pictures,1 light bulb was broken and the heated towel rail didn't heat up.... More

Have just returned from a truly awful spa day experience. Had booked a groupon deal for a friends birthday celebration and wish I had spent my money elsewhere. - I had been told one time on the phone booking and another time had been recorded in the diary. - We were left waiting in the 'waiting area', to complete a...
