Dropped in for a cup of coffee - welcoming and informal. Had good service with an attentive and helpful barman and lovely surroundings. There was a fair choice of teas and coffees available and of course cake! Very clean and a good choice of stop.

Ordered the home made burger costing roughly 10 of the queens finest Burger came out looking identical to a piece of charcoal, shaped like Ireland. Also accompanied by a shed load of iceberg lettuce and a chunky piece of tomato. Disappointed is an understatement. To think I was unlucky I was wrong. Kids food, chicken nuggets and chips had been...

We arrived late on Friday due to traffic issues and were met by the barman who couldn't be more helpful and accommodating. Sadly, that was probably the highlight of our stay. We stayed in room 7 which was at the front of the hotel. The room and furniture was tired. The room stank of raw sewage, and this was worse...

We visited at Sunday Lunch and were shown to a seating area overlooking the garden. The majority of us had Sunday Lunch. There was plenty of meat, however it was very overcooked, the beef was very "chewy", however we were all impressed with the large amount of vegetables that were served alongside the lunch. The staff were very slow with...

Sadly, disappointing sums this place up. My wife and I stayed here a few years ago and I reviewed it then but it has gone down hill since whereas we had hoped to find some improvement. On arrival we were "greeted" by a young lad who told us to find our own way to our rooms and was clearly not about...

I stayed 2 evenings at Kilvert's during my time in Hay On Wye and I am so glad I chose this place. It is perfectly central in the town and everything is easy walking distance. They have a nice car park, beautiful little garden, charming rooms with nice bathrooms, and the best breakfast I have had in any hotel yet!...

Visiting the town we found great difficulty in finding anywhere for coffee that was accessible by wheelchair. Staff at Kilverts were very helpful opening up a room for us and making sure we were comfortable. A staff member even offered to help my wife to the toilet. This was service with a capital S.

Stopped for lunch at the Kilverts Inn and jolly good it was.Rump steak and salad baguette, excellent bread filled with a generous portion of rump steak cooked med rare as asked for, served with a bowl of hot skinny fries. Homemade mushroom soup with a nice flavour maybe a little to thick but that's a personal preference Happy and cheerful...

Lovely old pub with a very large beer garden. Lunch was good value and delicious. Very peaceful location but right in the middle of Hay on Wye. Good sized menu and excellent beers and ciders. Well worth a visit.
