Stopped for lunch at the Kilverts Inn and jolly good it was.Rump steak and salad baguette, excellent bread filled with a generous portion of rump steak cooked med rare as asked for, served with a bowl of hot skinny fries. Homemade mushroom soup with a nice flavour maybe a little to thick but that's a personal preference Happy and cheerful... More

Lovely old pub with a very large beer garden. Lunch was good value and delicious. Very peaceful location but right in the middle of Hay on Wye. Good sized menu and excellent beers and ciders. Well worth a visit.

Stopped at this hotel bar after walking around Hay. We chose a outside seat in the sun. a good menu with a lot of choice's We had Beef chili and a vegetarian chili. The beef one was fine but the veg one lacked the chili taste and no red kidney beans so a bit of a letdown. The Bar is... More

If you are after a lukewarm microwaved Sunday lunch look no further...soggy roast potatoes and crackling ...with peas carrots and cheesy leeks (imaginative) ..Yorkshire pudding that exploded when you cut into it..the only bonus was the attentive apologetic waitress...11.95 ...the most expensive roast in town!

Hi Deb, Thanks for leaving us feedback - we're currently in a transitional period and taking all feedback keenly. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your Sunday lunch - I can assure you we don't microwave our Sunday lunches though! I've spoken to the staff and there's no record of a complaint being made at the time, but clearly something's gone... More

First class service and friendly welcome from our hosts. Bedroom v. comfortable - highly recommended. Food delicious and Hay on Wye had so much to offer for our library. A warm holiday which we both enjoyed.

Arrived with my dog and greeted not with an hello but did I pay the extra for the dog? How did I book? Etc. Dog friendly it claims. I do not think so. Dogs not allowed on their own in bedrooms and £10 to stay the night. No food in the evening and a very average breakfast. Might have been... More

Hi Leminier, I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us - we certainly shouldn't have greeted you like that. We're going through a transitional period with some old staff leaving and new joining, but I'll be bringing this up at the next staff as this isn't acceptable at any level. This is also why we had to close... More

We stayed here overnight and as a central location it's perfect. The room (8) was lovely; comfy, very clean and with a modern bathroom. The garden is perfect for a drink on a sunny afternoon and the Inn is within walking distance of everything you need. For the price you can't go wrong.

Hungry and thirsty, we four pitched up at Kilverts at 2.30pm and were told we "were lucky as the kitchen was about to shut". Later, we wished it had. Only snacks were available, this is Saturday lunchtime! £7 for a baked potato, same for baguette. Drinks took an age to order and be served. At least half an hour passed... More
