We, a family of three and a dog, stayed here for a few nights during a family visit in Tipperary. First, the essentials - room was spotless, plenty of space, bathroom was large and modern. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The building is located outside town and is very quiet; there are some grand old trees in... More

What a great night's stay. Beautiful old 1760's house, with great proprietors. The attached pub (The Forge) is a brilliantly restored cartwright's workshop. It's open to the public, and we were there when Ireland was playing in the Euro, so a good local crowd was there. We had a very good dinner there, reasonably priced, a few drinks and off... More

It was my first time staying in this hotel. I was really surprised by the kindness and service. Ruth is such a wonderful Lady. She insisted on opening the breakfast room to cook a full breakfast ; ever though I was the only one in the hotel. The next day more family and friends arrived as we were gathering for... More

Ruth and her Husband could not have been more inviting on our arrival! The room was comfortable and the breakfast (served extra early at our request) was especially tasty! Ruth's directions to see the Christ the King monument were spot on and gave us an extra view of Ireland that we had not planned on seeing. The Ballyglass Country House... More

We booked 4 nights at Ballyglass and had a wonderful time. Ruth looked after us very well and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely room and the breakfast was very good.enjoyed the forge bar for a meal and drinks and spent Sunday night dancing in the hall to a nice band. Would definitely recommend the hotel and look forward to... More

My wife, son and I had the enormous pleasure of staying at this wonderful country house hotel for just over two weeks this August (2015), and we cannot praise it high enough. It is a family run hotel, run by Bill, Joan, Liam and Ruth (and a small, but very dedicated staff) who all made our stay an outstanding success.... More

Country house elegance situated just outside Tipparery offering a varied fare of fresh produce, food is excellent. A private dining room for groups if required. Good service. Well worth as a choice for dining out.

We booked one night on our way from Dublin to Cork. It's located in a very lovely part of the country- the Glen of Aherlow. It's a well-established family run country hotel. Hospitality is superb. Ruth and 'grandma' were wonderful hostesses- catering for all requests and dietary requirements. Shortly after we arrived, we were greeted with lovely cup of tea... More

We spent 3 nights, June 23,24,25 and it was excellent. Ruth and her family were great hosts and we had a great time staying with them. The house is beautiful and the rooms had that charm that separates it from the standard hotel rooms. We spent a bit of time at the forge, which is the bar and where our... More
