If exploring ancient castles and you're looking for a unique experience in a family run BnB, this is the place. Built in 1764 as a private residence, "Woodfield House" was known for its gardens. In 1884, the residence became a school, evidenced by the artifacts that were found under the floorboards in 1977. The Norman Castle, built in 1067 by...

Since the restaurant closed, this is now a straightforward B&B masquerading as a hotel. As such, it was perfectly adequate, and since it is a fine building in a fine location right by the river and opposite the castle, you could do a lot worse. But it is rather lacking in atmosphere and enthusiasm. The owners seem unmotivated, and outside...

I rang the bell but no one answered so I phoned. owner was out at butchers so we wandered round Chepstow.. We returned couple of...

What a great little hotel. A comfortable, clean, spacious room with a view of Chepstow Castle from our window. Friendly staff and a yummy breakfast. What more could you ask for! Great location close to everything you could need in Chepstow.

A really lovely Christmas Day Lunch. We arrived at 13:00 to be greeted with lots of warm welcomes and festive fizz too. Lunch was very relaxed with extremely attentive waiting staff . The canapé starters were very tasty, prawn and smoked salmon tartlets, red onion & goats cheese tartlets and a lovely duck pate. The main meals were delicious; our...

a very cosy and quaint hotel, set near a great castle, and a not bad little town centre. breakfast was great and the staff were helpful and friendly. Shower was hot and plenty of water, bed was comfortable. watch out for low beams and uneven floors, it is a very old building !

Poor quality food and service also poor. Table not laid out correctly, just a knife and fork laid on a folded serviette. The lamb and beef was tough and the meal was not hot but just warm. Requested a bread roll but was told none available. The room was not warm either. Not an enjoyable experience. Will not be going back.

The "deluxe" room I booked was very dated and tired. Cleanliness a little to be desired but the room was quite big and they bathroom very basic. The rooms were very loud though, could hear TV, squeaky floorboards and conversation of people in next room. Breakfast was lovely and staff were pleasant. Would I stay again? No. Sorry.
