I stumbled across The Pend website quite a few years ago and have been wanting to stay there ever since. At long last my partner and I found an opportunity to go together with another couple... and we couldn't have been more pleased. We loved our host Peter who had a wry sense of humor and who answered all of... More

As family with 2 young children (age 3 and 5) staying in a guest house can be a bit of a tribulation, but the owner of the Pend could not have been more accomodating - from the moment we emailed to enquire about booking to the moment we left. We were looking for somewhere to break our drive from home... More

The Pend is a wonderful family run B&B. Peter Braney offered to collect us from the train, but since the Scottish Summer weather was cooperative, we walked. We were met at the door by Peter and the 'girls' - Molly and Bridie - very friendly Scottish Terriers who eager for Our room was large and quiet with 2 beds, tea... More

I booked my stay at The Pend because good friend stayed there last spring and recommended it highly saying it was heaven on earth. I have to agree and it did surpass my expectations. The food was spectacular. I had the best meals I have had anywhere US, UK, South America, Canada, Europe ect..... The rooms were comfortable, clean and... More

We had an excellent night at the Pends. Very central, with private parking. Great selection of hot drinks in the room, and a fridge with milk supplied. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty to eat and a lovely selection of fresh fruit for the more health-conscious.

I came up to Dunkeld from Edinburgh for two nights during the Niel Gow Festival. I'm an American travel writer, and while planning this trip I questioned the owner, Peter, about the nature of the festival, unsure as I was about attending, and he provided very helpful advice. I took the train up to Dunkeld and Peter kindly collected me... More

The Pend is a wonderful little town of Dunkeld Scotland. It was recommended to us by our guide who in the past had great reviews. I booked to B & B myself and was very impressed with the website and service I received through email. On arrival we were met by the grumpy owner Peter and his two cute dogs.... More

This guest was one of a party of 6 americans who arrived around 5pm and wanted to order dinner, a 4 course table d'hote menu, normally served at 7pm. Being on my own, as my wife was away for several days, and unable to cook and serve 6 guests simultaneously to an acceptable standard, I declined the request. They then... More

I booked 3 rooms at the Pend for 6 of us travelling round Scotland, visiting mountain bike trail centres. From our point of view it was ideal, with off-street parking (out of sight) and a garage we could put the bikes in. The rooms were big and had everything except en-suite bathrooms (though they did have basins) - this was... More

At the beginning of August 2009, we (two couples in their sixties) spent a great and wonderful time during 7 days in the Pend Hotel, including the superior hospitality of Peter and Marina Braney and the warm and friendly atmosphere of the house. All the time we enjoyed the excellent breakfast and dinner, and looked forward to what surprising menu... More

I really enjoyed my extended stay at The Pend. It is a small B&B (only 4 rooms) and you really feel as though you are staying at Peter & Marina's home. The breakfasts are truly outstanding (as are the dinners, I understand) with all fresh ingredients, cooked to your liking. Lots of fresh fruit, toast and croissants, very authentic Scottish... More
