Spent 2 days with a friend at the end of June, should have been Rothesay but that is a long story. The food is excellent. The staff cannot do enough for you, amazing. Undergoing renovation but did not interfere with the enjoyment of our visit. To the owner/owners your staff are worth their weight in gold. That includes kitchen and... More

Enjoyed a midweek stay at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dunoon, by purchase of a Groupon Voucher deal. Although hotel stay was confirmed the previous week, on arrival the hotel could not find our booking and we did not get to stay in the room booked. However to the hotel staff's credit we were handed the keys to the honeymoon suite... More

I booked this hotel via an online deal as a getaway for our little family (2 adults 2 infants). The hotel is ideally located at the ferry port and close enough to Dunoon to take an enjoyable walk into the town. The hotel is like a classic ageing lady - beautiful in her day but needing a bit of a... More

I loved how characteristic this hotel is. It does need some work, like most hotels, but considering we stayed in a dog friendly room it was extremely clean. Food was lovely, staff were lovely, owner was very helpful and informative. We had a really good stay. Will be back next year. Thanks guys :) Both me and my husband are... More

A really interesting and characterful, historic hotel building set on the sea shore at Hunters Quay. Superb views over the Clyde with all the ships and ferries coming and going. Really pleasant and helpful staff. First class breakfast. Excellent evening meals (we particularly recommend the chicken croquettes starter). We loved it… and will certainly be going back for some more!

Spontaneously, we purchased a groupon voucher for our stay and decided to do a four day trip of Argyll and Bute. We stayed 2 nights at the Royal Marine in a very spacious room with a sea view, enjoying an included breakfast both mornings and a lovely dinner with a glass of wine on our first night. The hotel is... More

Dangerous safety issues, kettles on floors, electricity needs attention, fire notices not apparent in all rooms, trip hazards. Bedrooms not cleaned on a daily basis. In all an extremely disappointing 5 night stay with a group. Not suitable for groups until all work has been completed. Staff lacking suitable training and guidance from Management. Would not recommend a stay at... More

Stayed 2 nights 29 and 30th June. Staff were very friendly and efficient, especially the gentleman who served our breakfast, who went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our meal, which was excellent, especially the Loch Fyne Kippers. Room was very good indeed with a large four poster bed and solid, old fashioned dressing table and wardrobe. The... More

We had a weekend Groupon break and we were pretty impressed with the Hotel. The room had been redecorated, with new carpets etc. very recently and was spotless. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location for our destination was good for access to the area and a great base for sightseeing. Well worth a visit

Whilst our visit to the hotel was pleasant (groupon deal 2 nights + breakfast, glass of wine and dinner 1st night) we found the hotel to be dated and in our opinion in need of refurbishment. The rooms are basic and clean and so was the menu, we didn't bother to eat dinner there on the 2nd evening. The first... More
