4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I needed somewhere to stay for one night before getting the Eurotunnel and at under £30 for a night this fitted the bill. Due to traffic problems I ended up getting there quite late at about 2130 and with an early start just wanted to head to bed. The guy on the desk was helpful and let me park my... More

Room was fine. The bathroom could do with a revamp, not sure if you could even call it a shower. But however it was a room for a night! Room at least was clean and the linen was fresh. Staff I felt could have been a little friendlier.

We stayed at the Southcliff for one night on route to France in August. The location was great, the staff were very nice, the breakfast was really good. The only down side was the whole place needs an upgrade. The bedding was very clean and there was everything you needed for a quick stopover but the decor and furniture was... More

Hopefully you will find this is an objective review of this hotel - paying around the mid-thirties £ per night for a single room, I was not expecting the London Hilton ! But that said (and bearing in mind this was my first time at this hotel despite staying in Folkestone quite frequently), I quite enjoyed my stay there. If... More

friendly reception staff and room a decent size. whole place is a bit jaded but exceptional value nonetheless. location good for the shuttle and parking easy outside. did not eat there, just used tea facility in room which was clean but basic.

We were doubtful about booking given the reviews, but glad we did. Location is excellent, staff very helpful, room had everything necessary and was well laid out, bed was comfortable. Maybe we were lucky in getting a first floor room with a balcony and unbeatable view. True, it's a bit old, but it was very clean.

I've stayed here before and although my first experience at this hotel was good due to having a spacious room with a balcony and sea view so we overlooked the other issues, I can't say the same about the second time. We were assigned a room which was very tired looking and the window was not working. We couldn't open... More

Alice_alda, further to my first response below, I do find it disheartening that after such a stay that you had to point out the issues but when I try and get further details so I can make the improvements you pointed out, I get ignored. this is a shame as we do listen to all feedback and act accordingly, but... The room I was assigned wasn't bad, it was clean but quite old and tired-looking. There was a continuous noise coming from the pipes in the wall of the toilet as if a big animal was trying to crawl out of it. No idea why. Also there was a bath tub without a hose or water-mixer (just the normal low... More

Yes the building is old but going through renovation. Staff warm and friendly. Our room spotlessly clean had a flat screen TV. Fresh clean towels lots of shampoo and shower goodies. Also plenty of tea and coffee ect. Found the hotel very hot though. Off road parking just down the road in an underground car park that got locked at... More
