Visited the hotel on business and stayed two nights. Firstly, important to say the staff were fine - amenable and friendly. But, boy, has this hotel seen better days... OK, so it was clean but it's in major need of updating. Paintwork, carpets, furniture - all so old and tired. My shower (actually a showerhead on a hose over the... More

Spent two nights here. Room 471 was spacious, slightly tired but had a charming view. It was also quiet. The downside was the shower. The genius who masterminded its' renovation failed to take into account the mansard roof (sloping). The slope and position of the shower and the bath prevented the shower being used by this six foot chap! Very... More

The room was perfect, plenty of space very bright and very clean. It also had an iron and ironing board in the cupboard. There were tea, coffee and biscuits . we were situated on the fourth floor and we had a beautiful sea view from our corner. The hotel is literally a two minute walk away from the town centre.... Fantastic service prior to stay and whilst there. We had to cancel our original booking at the last minute, due to a bereavement and the staff were extremely sympathetic and let us postpone our stay. Our room overlooked the sea and was very good for the price. The lounges were all tastefully decorated and the restaurant had a good atmosphere.... More

Excellent site as I was going to a concert at Leas Cliff Hall. Lovely old building typically with public lounges in all nooks and crannies, overlooking lovely gardens, where you could get afternoon teas and snacks. Sea views available, but as there was a pub/hotel opposite, I opted for a quieter room at the back. Very small lift way along... More

The hotel is located at Leas Cliff, just a few steps to the beautiful beach. Nice choice for beach holiday. Food was a surprise because we didn't expect and it turned out to be quite good. The hotel lounge is nice and cozy, though rooms are a bit dated and the lift is really tiny. There is a good Italian... More

Booked in for one night before a trip to France via the euro tunnel. Given a room on the top floor, there were cockroaches in the bathroom-small ones, which I am told means there generally are a lot of them. Moved to another room and given £15 discount. Hey presto another one (small) in that bathroom. My children (7 and... More

This place was built in the 1860's and although it has been modernised there are clearly some difficulties to resolve. The lift is I guess a later addition and is very small and slow, and I imagine that en suite facilities have been added to the rooms, making them on the small side and oddly shaped. That said, this is... More

We booked for one night as we were traveling on the ferry the next morning. My husband omitted to notice it had no car park so we spent quite some time trying to find somewhere to park our car, we managed to find one space on the street a good walk away! The picture of the hotel looks as if... More
