Had a wonderful two day break at the Luton Hoo, the SPA was amazing. The food in the restaurant/afternoon tea was really nice but unfortunately found the service extremely slow. We were sat down and then served 35 minutes later and that was only because i waved a member of staff down. Generally a pleasant stay with alot of history at the Luton Hoo
I stayed at Luton Hoo on Monday 27th June, as I was attending the Automotive Fellowship International Conference. When I woke up at 6-30am, I switched the kettle on for a cup of tea and there was an immediate reaction from an electric socket on the other side of the room and the whole room was without power….. I needed to iron my shirt and get ready for an 8-15 start in the Conference. The situation was managed very well by the Duty Manager, he brought me some tea and returned my shirt, pressed within 15 minutes. He also applied a goodwill discount to my invoice. All in all, a great response to an unexpected problem ! Upon my departure I asked if I could leave one of my bags for my collection the following Wednesday and this was agreed. However, my plans changed and I was unable to return so a very kind Porter, by the name of Rob, arranged a courier to deliver my bag to my home in Dorset, arriving exactly when required ! I stay at Luton Hoo three times a year for the above Conference and have never been presented with anything other than a delightful stay - the help I received on this occasion was far beyond expectations- thank you & well done !!…
The staff were warm and friendly. However, I was surprised the hotel thought it was OK to tip individual staff for their services with prior warning of booking. The hotel room decoration is very tired, and HVAC system (heating and cooling ) was very noisy and could not turn off during the evening to sleep. The food choice in the restaurants evening was very limited and there were no vegetables.. which surprised me. Due to limited choice
Perfect weekend with the family. Can’t fault the hotel whatsoever. Front of house were chatty and made us feel welcome. Rooms were huge and clean. Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main house all lovely. Shooting was a great experience too
A large group of us went for a retirement do. The food was amazing and the staff where super attentive. Special mention must be made to Don Thomas Stanley and Xhulia our waiting team. They really made it a wonderful evening.
I recently had to stay overnight at this hotel unexpectedly when I limped into the grounds in the dark and rain, looking for car charge to find out (after a lot of stress and faff) that they were not working. The room was comfortable and breakfast delicious. If I am honest the main mansion house reception didn't seem to want to understand my problem let alone how they might be able to help and left me frustrated. Then Kevin and the concierge team got involved and delivered service way above and beyond what I would expect. He provided equipment, ideas, lifts between the spa car park and mansion house and between us we came up with a solution that eventually got myself (and another guest in a similar predicament) back on the road. He was a cool head in a crisis, very helpful and a total professional . The staff at the spa desk were also very helpful letting me charge my phone that had also died. Take a bow Kevin 👍10/10…
Our(my wife and I) trip to the Luton Hoo, on Friday 10th of March, to celebrate my 70th birthday, a Courtesy hospitality treat, it was a successful and memorable one. On arrival at the 5- star hotel, we were happily welcomed by the doorman Kevin, who not only helped to park our car, in the spacious car park, but also ensured that our luggage was conveyed to our room. We were also well received and attended to, at the reception desk. My wife and I were checked into a VIP Suite, which we later discovered was the same room used to film the “Four weddings and a funeral”. We were welcomed with very well-chilled bottle of Champagne, which was brought to our room. Even though it was a night stay, we had a very memorable experience. We had the afternoon tea, shortly after our arrival and it was absolutely gorgeous. A birthday cake, with burning candle, was presented to me and a birthday song was enacted. The ambiance of the ball -room, was impeccable. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were more than enough. The staff were as polite as ever. Special thanks to one Kevin, who took charge of our table. One could have plentiful cups of hot beverages. We went for dinner and our experience was the same. My wife, particularly, enjoyed the liver dish served. We were both very impressed with the overall treatment we received. Big shout out to those managers, who took turns to come and greet us at our table. When we went for breakfast the following day, which was our final day, we were well-looked after by the members of staff, Sharon was very attentive to us. The next day after breakfast, we went for a brief walk around the garden. Went to view the Club house and Spa Golf building. The surrounding areas of the hotel is beautiful and the building generally is full of history. Big shout out thanks to every member of staff including the mangers, Stephen, Zee Ismail, who directed that we be shown around the relevant and historic places, such as the magnificent chapel. Thanks to Sharon(friendly, funny and helpful), Kevin, Alistair, David, and many more. In fact, generally, the service was absolutely outstanding, the room, very spacious and clean and the food was great!!!. Why would no one be expected to return for much more treats!!.…
My mum and I came for a Spa Day on Monday which was absolutely lovely. My mum has asked me to mention Fatima who did both my mum’s facial and massage. My mum has been to a number of spas across the UK and said the two treatments provided by Fatima were the best that she’s ever had. Our lunch in the Mansion House was fantastic, fresh and high quality food with quick and friendly service provided. My only recommendation would be to have more areas in the ladies changing room with hairdryers, where you can sit down to finish getting ready. My mum is about to have knee replacement surgery and not having the option to sit down, just made it slightly less comfortable for her to finish getting ready. We were also lucky that we went on a quiet day but I can imagine 2 hairdryers being available on a busy day where there are lots of women in the changing room could also prove challenging. Just a suggestion to make the experience more comfortable for future guests and spa members. Overall a great experience though and I would highly recommend to friends and family and be happy to return.…
I returned to Luton Hoo last week after giving up on it many years ago, fed up with poor food, poor service etc etc, just read the old reviews. It seems that the new owners are improving things and the afternoon tea was fantastic and the service charming. Two things, I hope the new owners install a bar in the mansion house something that has been sadly lacking for years and look at their data base, I was a social member for years and when my membership expired there was silence, silence for three years in fact.
I booked 3 rooms via Secret Escapes to celebrate my mums 91st birthday. I made a few enquiries with Tina in Guest Relations prior to our arrival and she super exceeded on the delivery of all. Then to top it off we were given 3 amazing ginormous rooms in the Mansion House with views of the beautiful grounds. We used the swimming pool which was also larger then most hotels of similar standards, and the water temperature was just right. 13 of us had dinner in the main restaurant and on the whole everyone enjoyed what they had. Breakfast options were were also varied & plentiful. Thank you to all the team for making our stay very special.
