Fortunately my stay was for only one night and I'll be giving it a wide berth in future. It is impossible to find (I ended up having to call the hotel after driving around fruitlessly). I had to walk miles from my car. Parking is chargeable (£10 for overnight!! Why???) My key card didn't work and both times reception implied I wasn't using it correctly. My room was hot and stuffy. The air con unit turned on but did nothing. I called reception who said hilariously "we don't offer that service." I don't regard this hotel as any kind of service at all. Avoid. Premier Inns are SO much better than this.

Dear Cherrygirl2015, Thank you for your recent stay and for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am very sorry to hear that on this instance we could not met our expectations. We have installed sign post around the hotel but it seems they were insufficient. I will make sure to review how we can make the arriving experience smoother. Our car park as the car park in the area is chargeable at the rate of £10. Alternatives are available such as free on street car park between 6pm and 8am. I am sorry that you experiences inconvenience due to our door mechanism. I will personally look into it to address it immediately. I an sorry as well that the temperature in the room was not ideal. We do not have room with air conditioning in the hotel but fans are available in the room. In spite of this, I sincerely hope to see you back in our hotel for a second try. Feel free to contact me should you wish to do so Mathieu

My stay at the Thistle Hotel in Luton was wonderful. I do agree with a couple of other reviewers, the hotel is a little harder to find, especially if you’re arriving later in the evening, especially if you’re not familiar with the area. Booking in was easy and the staff were helpful, professional and friendly. After booking and reading some of the comments, I have to admit to being a little worried about my stay. However after arrival at the hotel, these concerns were short-lived, I have to question some of the negative points I have read as personally I found the hotel to be very well decorated, clean and well presented. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, they were professional and friendly. On the whole they were very hospitable, which made me feel completely at ease and very comfortable in and around the hotel. It has to be noted that it is a town center location and therefore, as with any town or city center, you have to have be aware of safety, when out and about late at night. Unlike a couple of other remarks, in the 5 days I stayed at the hotel, I didn’t come across any dubious characters around the hotel and I felt safe at all times. Being a smoker I stood outside the hotel on many occasions during my visit, the hotel staff were frequently cleaning the area and checking on the vehicles in the car park. The public areas, lifts and hallway were all very clean and well decorated. The room I stayed in was just perfect; it was fresh, clean and well maintained. The bathroom was in good order, a lovely cast iron bath and shower, with plenty of room for all your toiletries. Bath and shower gel are provided and are of a good quality. There was a shaver point and even one for the toothbrush. There were extras in the room, that aren’t always provided by some, an Iron, Ironing board and hairdryer for example and even a safe. The bedding was crisp and clean, my only issue was the lack of pillows (only one), saying that, a simple call or visit to reception and extras were gladly provided. I’m not sure if it was due to Covid19, but during my stay 4 day there was no room service, so things like change of towels, the making of the bed and emptying the bin wasn’t done. I can only assume that these can be requested and I doubt there would have been any problems asking. There was a very efficient radiator in the room, and the towels were dry by the evening anyway. With the coronavirus restrictions breakfast was collected at reception in a bag. There was a lovely bacon bap, pastries, croissants, butter and jam and a bag of fresh fruit. On the first day it included a cartoon of fruit juice, it would have been nice every day. Everything was very fresh and the bacon was wonderful, excellent quality. Tea and coffee are always available at reception, you do have to ask each time, but it’s always served with a smile. I will definitely be staying again. Thanks

We are working very closely with the local authorities to keep the surrounding of the hotel as enjoyable as Luton can offer. With the covid restrictions, our housekeeping will only clean the room on request. I am sorry this was not explain at the check in time. I am glade to see as well that you were well looked after by our fantastic team who has really stepped up during this unprecedented time. Once more thank you and I hope to see you back soon Mathieu

I had to stay there a week for my self-isolation period. The team was nice and helpful with bringing breakfast to the room and with the info I needed. Well done to Monica and Ainni for their kind attitude. The room was comfy, simple but modern - stylish, although useless chair with wide legs, impossible to fit a narrow gap between heavy table and bed. So if you want to use a table, you have to sit on the edge of the bed. Great value for money you pay, good breakfast with free coffee from the machine at any time.

Stayed there on Saturday for quick and easy gataway. No WiFi but I was warned on arrival which was great from the team. I was ok with it. Breakfast was very fast. Team has been so much of an asset. They were so busy but still polite and smiling. I really felt for them. Well done to Matthew who went above and beyond.
