Very friendly staff.. Monika at breakfast is wonderful and nothing is to much trouble highly recommend Central to everything. There is a real personal touch here which is endearing. Family friendly hotel
Thistle Express Luton - worst hotel experience I've ever had. Arrived after long flight at 2.30am and checked in. -2 degrees outside and got into room to find window left open and no heating on. Fixed radiator didn't work, instead, small convector heater left in room which I plugged in, thinking it should heat the room - it didn't. Got up to put my clothes back on and sleep fully dressed under duvet, the room simply did not heat up. The whole hotel is freezing, no radiators are on anywhere, nor is the electric front door open - think Thistle saving on their energy costs at customers expense. I didn't even stay for the free breakfast, I complained and ran at 8am - shockingly bad hotel - I feel for the staff having to work here as well as the customers.
The hotel met my needs. The room was pleasant. Improvements -Outside my room and other parts of the hotel there was a strong smell of cigarettes which w was quite off putting -breakfast was basic but wasn't very fresh -walls were quite thin so could hear a lot of activity in the hotel Other than the above, as it is an express hotel it met my basic needs and i would stay again
Extremely unhelpful reception staff. BE CAREFUL OF THEIR CAR PARK SCAM ! THEY WONT MENTION YOU NEED TO PAY FOR PARKING, AND YOU WILL RECEIVE A £60 / £100 PARKING CHARGE. When i tried to resolve this with the reception staff, having been rude to me on the phone, they did not even acknowledge receipt of my email. I explain I am in financial difficulty and were no able to pay the charge. Still no acknowledgement from them. I wont be using THISTLE HOTELS at all in the future due to their inconsiderate staff.
Lovely and cosy on a very cold day heater’s are radiators which is really nice , beds so comfortable socket’s at bedside nice big room big tv , walkway to shopping center free tea coffee all day train station not far
Lovely comfortable bed, good enough room, small but adequate bathroom with both bath and shower, free soap n shower gell in dispensers. Fluffy towels, but very noisy radiator...ill be getting InTouch with them soon requesting a different room next time. Lovely staff, good breakfast.
We had an amazing and comfortable stay at Thistle Hotel during our visit to Luton in November. The room was spacious and cozy. Free tea and coffee is available in the room. Self service breakfast. Eggs, beans and sausages. Fresh croissants. Location is good. Just a few steps away from The Mall. Close to the train station and bus stop. Paid parking is available.
Stayed here for one night. On our way to Luton Airport. The hotel and room was spotless. The staff were amazing. The breakfast which is included in the price was disappointing. They didn’t have a lot of things there because the delivery hadn’t arrived. The complementary tea and coffee is good, but I missed the kettle in the room, specially at 6am. While I appreciate and completely understand that the local authority has to provide emergency accommodation for families and some single people, I don’t appreciate seeing groups of people in reception in their pyjamas just sat there drinking tea at 11:30 in the morning like it’s some sort of social club. Their language was rotten and they just shouted. We arrived quite late at night and there was single men hanging around outside of the hotel. We got asked twice for money just walking to the hotel. Later on we saw the same men in reception at the hotel obviously guests. This completely let the hotel down because as once as you get inside and you get into your room and you talk to the staff, they are amazing and I would’ve given it five stars if not for the people hanging around the outside of the hotel, and in the reception area in their pyjamas, some of them didn’t even have any shoes on. I believe that the hotel management should ask these people to go back to their rooms or only come into the reception area to drink the complimentary tea and coffee if wearing daytime clothes.…
We stayed here for two nights and after some of the reviews I read we were pleasantly surprised. It’s right in the centre, close to the train station. The room was perfectly adequate, spotlessly clean and the shower was powerful and hot ( we were on the 8th floor) The staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast was fine and I’m a vegetarian and found plenty to eat. My only complaint would be it was a little noisy in the room from lift and other rooms.
This must have been our at least fourth time over the years when we have been coming for various family reasons to Luton. The hotel has kept its standard, it is very comfortable, provides you with free hot drinks at the reception 24/7 and has a very good breakfast buffet. I would especially like to thank the receptionist who was most helpful when we arrived quite exhausted after 20h drive and were too early for check-in. We will be back...
