I stayed here earlier in the week. My expectations low as I fully appreciate it’s a budget friendly hotel. In a nustshell, the toilet wouldn’t flush, the room smelt disgusting (even before my un-monetary deposit) the tap came off on my hand which meant plaster was spilt over the floor and the shower didn’t work. This is far below an acceptable standard. This was raised as I checked out and I felt I was reasonable with the host. I have made two separate complaints and received nothing back, I’ve also resorted to messaging you on social media. I expect: An acknowledgement of my complaint with a suitable apology and an offer of redress within the next 24 hours otherwise I will email your group CEO and cc environmental health and the tourist boards into the email. Regards, Jon…
AVOID unless you want a night on a lumpy coiled metal mattress in an extremely hot and oppressive room. Tried to freshen up with a shower but it was stuck on boiling hot with no option to turn some cold in. Result sleepless night groggy onward journey to Luton airport. I know you get what you pay for and was expecting ‘basic’ - This was beyond a joke, do not waste a penny by staying here
Hotel cost me £50 for 2 nights a room with No window i didn't mind its cheap and Cheerful. I read all he reviews praying it couldn't be that bad so I was expecting/ prepared for it. I Came prepared with earplugs but didn't need them as my room was in a quieter area, but boy yes everything you read in the reviews is true. Lifts not working, rooms smell, shower too hot to use,( apparently to have to leave shower running for 10 minutes) found this out as i was checking out. Electric light problem, television not working, Room was very hot no ventilation. However Bedding clean pillows good . So if you don't mind not being able to breath at night but have a clean bed go for it . The vending machines all out of order. But very close to the shopping centre and train station./ Airport. Staff at reception were pleasant.…
Whole hotel smells of tobacco and marijuana. Rooms are beyond basic - no chair/desk, TV was not programmed, no working remote available and temperamental lights. Paid for a room with a window but the blind was broken so I couldn’t make use of it - no worries as the window didn’t open anyway! Avoid at all costs - pay a little extra and stay somewhere else.
Tiny windowless room. Electrical faults throughout the building including flickering lights in the corridors, switches in our room which don’t work and a main light which does not turn off. The rooms have paper thin walls which mean you can hear every conversation happening in the building and get uncomfortably hot with no way to cool them. On the way to our room corridors smelled of urine as if used as a toilet and suspicious brown stains in the carpet reinforce this. Further to this, other guests smoking cannabis in their rooms led to a pungent odour even in our room with the door closed. Do not be tempted by the low price. Absolutely awful.
We knew on arrival we'd paid for literally a square with a bed and a bathroom and that's what we got. I am aware this is a budget hotel but there is a difference to budget and just not really caring. The room was very warm. You couldn't control the temperature so you had to go down to reception to get them to adjust it. We found if you keep the bathroom door open it cools the room down as it is cold in there. The bed wasn't the comfiest and we didn't sleep much. The sheets weren't the cleanest and we did end up sleeping on the duvet as it was just so hot and just gave us more padding. The light switch didn't work so you had to remove the card to turn the lights off but that wasn't an issue as the electric still worked for phone chargers. TV remote was broken, and the TV was very temperamental so we just turned it off. When I woke up I wasn't really feeling well and it was so stuffy, so we just got up and left an hour earlier than planned. I started feeling a lot better once we were outside so I do put it down to the ventilation. The bathroom wasn't the best, it was a bit dirty but the towels were clean at least. Water pressure is basically non existent but we still tried anyway. Not much to say about this really. The staff were nice enough but apart from check in and check out we didn't talk to them. We also went to a pub across thre street just to get out for an hour. 2 minutes from the train station, we jumped on the train about 3:20am to Luton Airport and that was the end of our stay. Don't think we would come back. Only reason I'm not rating it a 1 is because it wasn't terrible, but judging by the reviews we were lucky we only needed this for a maximum of 7 hours. …
By far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I cannot understate how bad it is. I should have slept in my car. You couldn’t pay me to sleep here again. I slept for a combined total of 1 hour because the bed was so uncomfortable and felt filthy. I also couldn’t move an inch without the springs crunching, groaning and pinging noisily under me with every little movement. The mattress was old and dirty. The sheets smelt like someone else had been sleeping in them and there was dried blood on the duvet cover. As soon as I walked into the hotel room (by having to force the door open despite it being unlocked) it smelled like a public toilet and my heart genuinely sank as it looked absolutely vile. I couldn’t believe I’d paid for this dump. I was optimistic though and thought perhaps a comfy bed and a decent shower could redeem its unpleasant appearance (and smell) but boy oh boy was I in for a treat, it got much worse. The bathroom was bad. It’s a shame because its done in quite a cool style if only it were clean. It was so filthy that I felt much dirtier from having been in the shower. The toilet roll was half used. The toilet didn’t really look or smell like it had been cleaned. When the basin tap was turned on, it glugged, trickled and then aggressively spluttered water everywhere, soaking the bathroom. This was not a one time thing either, it happened every time the tap was used. The shower was completely unfit for purpose. The water pressure was almost none, it was dribbling out of the shower-head BUT it was coming out absolutely scolding hot and the temperature controls were broken so I was unable to turn it down. I couldn’t shower without my skin melting off so I dried myself on the towel which looked clean but actually smelled like an ashtray. I’m not sure what that smell meant, but I doubt it’s good. I’ve seen the shower temperature issue mentioned repeatedly throughout these reviews, maybe time to take a look into this? It’s really quite dangerous. This place is a health hazard in many ways. There were shady characters hanging around in the corridors. The corridors themselves were so creaky that you could hear it clearly from inside the rooms. Down the side of the bed was absolutely disgusting (I have included pictures for reference) I think I actually gasped at what I saw. There was a used silk sleep mask that had been there for who knows how long, a variety of tissues, what looked like a pair of somebody’s socks, and much more. My phone charger fell down there at one point and honestly I considered it lost to the cesspit but I managed to fish it out and wash my hands in the sink which spat water all over my legs. How hard is it for staff to clean down the side of a bed, given that it’s the ONLY thing in the room? The answer is not very, and it should be the bare minimum. I’ve included a picture of the squashed COCKROACH which featured stuck to the roll down blinds. If I am honest, I think the cockroach got off lightly. Being crushed by the filthy blinds is a better fate than staying in this hotel any longer. A nice touch to an already magical experience. The cherry on top. As is the running theme with these reviews, I can’t fault the hotel staff. They were polite and friendly, I just feel so awful for them having to work in this environment. It’s like being a doorman at a crack den. There was only one plug socket in the room and when used only one side worked, the broken side sparked as I put in my phone charger. There also seemed to be the remains of what used to be a bedside table which had been ripped off of the wall. Having read about the broken TVs in the other reviews, it was a shame that ours didn’t even have a remote control so we couldn’t use it at all. As I lay awake in bed, wondering to myself what an earth I have done to deserve this, I noticed that my legs were very itchy. I don’t even think I want to know why but I’ve seen it mentioned in other reviews. Thick pyjamas or a hazmat suit suggested. There was no ventilation. The windows couldn’t open. Luckily for me it was a cold night so I could at least cover myself up with a filthy stinking duvet. There were mysterious holes in the ceiling which I think may once have been used for ventilation purposes but now served as a dirty hole for cobwebs, fluff and hair. The ceiling in general was covered in large stains and marks. It was also visibly falling apart in places. The room was £60, which I understand is cheap for a hotel, but I’m left confused as to what I was even paying for. It seems like they should be paying me to stay there given how disgusting it was. What a complete and utter waste of my money. I feel wronged and conned. It was literally something out of a nightmare. Wholly unfit for purpose and needs flattening and starting from scratch. …
For starters, as soon as my friend, my friends father and I entered this hotel there was no one at the reception. After waiting for about 5 minutes a lady appeared and walked over. My friends father proceeded to try and speak to her and she shut him down instantly “one minute.” In a rude tone. Then amongst the conversation it became clear she has no patience for visitors as my friends father has an accent, and she kept speaking to him like a child, like he couldn’t understand her, even though he could.. she just came across as very rude. After a long, frustrating conversation. She finally let us to our rooms, me and my friend were sharing a room, we actually laughed walking into the tiny space it was that appalling. The thirst thing we noticed was the coat hanger, falling out of the wall, sharp nails poking out. The stains on the walls and on the blinds made us very uncomfortable! Right next to the bed is the window (which does not open btw) and black mould on the windowsill, touching the bed may I add! Walked into the bathroom and the thirst thing to catch my eye is hair on the floor of the shower, from the last people to stay as well as half used toilet paper, this just proves that they do not sanitise or clean before checking in another guest. It’s the middle of winter and the room was just as cold as outside, (you have to ask reception to deal with the temperature of your room and considering the last encounter with the receptionist, we decided to just not bother). Finally, I sat on the bed (which was surprisingly comfy and looked clean) I went to put my drink on the table attached to the wall, just for it to move. It is off it’s hinges and you can just pick it up!! Unreal and seriously dangerous! This place is a health hazard and just makes u feel uncomfortable even standing In it, please do not come here at ur own risk, not worth what we paid for it at all.…
I have tried to complain but got nowhere. I read a review that could so easily have been mine. Lights wouldn’t turn off, flickering light in the bathroom made me feel sick, window frame was rotten inside and black with a disgusting smear on the window ledge. It was appalling and the staff just shrugged it off when we mentioned the state of the room.
This hotel is cheap for a reason, it’s not far off being in prison! Our room was small and literally had a bed, small bathroom and a tv…that’s it, no other furniture. There’s wasn’t even any windows so the room was constantly dark. The walls are paper thin and need a good clean, we could hear our neighbours talking all night so didn’t get much sleep. The worst thing was the bed, it was tiny and very lumpy. We stayed here as we were flying from Luton the next day as part of the Airparks package. The corridors smelt of weed and the lift was out of order. The location is ideal as parking up the street is free over night but that was the only positive.
