Nigel and Paula are the perfect hosts. They make you feel at home in their lovely house. The rooms are very clean and beautifully appointed. The smoked salmon and scrambled egg breakfast is simply scrumptious. We actually stayed here in June 2014. The place, owners and locations is perfect. No faults. Everything from cake on arrival, to a beautiful room with a sea view, and a stunning breakfast just makes it the best place I've stayed in!! Fantastic!!

Visited this establishment over the bank Holiday weekend and had a wonderful relaxing experience. I completely agree with other reviewers about the welcome / hosts and the high standard of accommodation so will not repeat. the owners really do go the extra mile without being overly intrusive. Nice little touches like signs left on the hall table telling guests that... More

Absolutely first class, everything you could hope for in an outstanding B&B, from first introduction from Paula and Nigel you felt straight away that you had chosen the right accommodation for your getaway break. Location is really good for exploring either by road, rail or foot. The brilliant breakfast, so much choice, sets you up for the day ahead. Our double... More

I've stayed in some excellent B&Bs over the years but this one has the edge. We booked only a few days before our stay and it looked from the website as if only a twin room was available. A few days later I received a phone call from Paula asking if we'd prefer the room to be made into a... More

We stayed in the garden lodge, it was great. Just for two but lots of space, large double bedroom and lounge area plus a spacious kitchen. Central heating and a lovely garden. The Langbury is just minutes from the pebble beach and the steam train station. Shopping in near by Minehead and a little further lots of places to visit.... More

After long walks through the beautiful hills of Exmoor and the surrounding area it was always a joy to see welcoming light in the sitting room of the Langbury, have a cup of tea or hot chocolate and get into a comfortable and cozy bed. The room was spotlessly clean and had picturesque views, the house itself has a lot... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Langbury is the large Edwardian home of Nigel and Paula Smythe. Originally built as a gentleman's residence, it stands in its own grounds set in an elevated position in the small coastal village of Blue Anchor. Here you will find a friendly welcoming atmosphere combined with individual attention and an excellent Aga cooked, locally sourced, breakfast. Accommodation is provided in five individually furnished rooms which all enjoy magnificent views of the sea and the hills of glorious Exmoor and the Quantocks which are a feast for the eyes at any time of year. The Langbury is 100 metres from the beach and Blue Anchor Station where you can board a steam train on the West Somerset Railway - the longest preserved railway in the country. We are approximately half a mile outside of the Exmoor National Park and three miles from the medieval village of Dunster with its fairy-tale National Trust Castle. The traditional seaside resort of Minehead is five miles to the west and the ancient harbour town of Watchet three miles to the East. ... more   less
