An out of the blue visit to this town provoked childhood memories. A visit to the Quay away from, erm, let's say the more commercial part of the town, seemed appropriate. It was a lovely day and we were both delighted by the friendlyness and hospitality of this establishment. The choice and quality of food was excellent. Thank you for... More

We stayed at the Old Ship Aground for one night recently. We saw that it had good Tripadvisor reviews and it was in a good location for our short visit. The Old Ship Aground is located at the harbour end of Minehead seafront and is easily reached by car. Alternatively, it’s a short walk from the centre of town. There... More

Walked down to the harbour end of the esplanade we stopped here for a drink. I loved the pub it was very quirky. Good was served quick - everything I was looked amazing. I heard people raving about a Thursday pie night. Great when weather is good to sit outside looking out.

Great atmosphere and great service will definitely return. Landlord very kindly gave me a tour of the refurbished rooms. Food good and a nice selection of cask ales. Outdoor seating overlooking the old harbour at Minehead so all in all a very pleasant visit.

Had an excellent meal for four of us in the early evening. Starters were soup and mushrooms. Main courses were fish chowder, cheese grape caramelised pecan sAlad and a pie. All of the meals were excellent. We then over indulged with jam roly poly, chocolate brownie and chocolate mousse. The staff were good and made you feel welcome. Will come... More

A lovely pub with a very nice restaurant area and a great location down at the quay. Food was excellent and the friendly staff made it such a great experience we returned on the last night of our holiday for a 2nd helping!

Spent four nights at The Old Ship Aground last week. Lovely room overlooking the harbour. Very clean. Friendly staff who are also very helpful. Couldn't fault it apart from the low water pressure but this is not something that is the hotel's fault and the large white towels to dry yourself on after a slow shower more than made up... More

Brilliant location, our room was spacious and overlooked the harbour but could have done with some upgrade on décor. There for three nights and bathroom bin not emptied and towels not changed once during our stay. Hype sadly did not reflect our experience. Food was excellent which is reflected by how busy it gets. It was unfortunate that we experienced... More

Revisited the Old Ship Aground for a Friday evening meal. We had booked ahead and just as well as it was busy on Friday Night during the school holidays. Starter was a lovely Kofta Kebab with minty yoghurt and salad leaves. My Gammon was juicy and flavoursome. Brûlée for dessert, fab. Cheese board was massive with a good selection of... More

We recently stayed in Minehead for a few nights and fell upon this pub by accident! It has to be said that it is the best pub ever for food and hospitality. The staff are excellent nothing is too much trouble and the chef (only young) certainly know how to create good food. Can't praise it enough. The beer is... More
