We had lunch here last Sunday, meeting up with family, as it's equidistant between them and us and made a nice change from the over-busy Cotswolds where we usually meet up. The building itself is old and has been very well refurbished and modernised without losing any of its character or charm. It was a very hot, sunny afternoon, and... More

Check in was easy and staff was very pleasant. We were travelling with another couple and arrived about an hour prior to check in. Our room wasn't ready but we kept ourselves busy in the pub, where we enjoyed a light lunch. There is no air conditioning and unfortunately there was a heat wave but doors and windows were open... Visited this pub for an evening meal on Thursday with friends. We booked a table but it was quiet on Thursday night. The waiting staff were pleasant and helpful. It was gourmet burger night, I had a lovely burger (highly recommend it) but my partner had a Caesar salad which had plenty of chicken and leaves but very little dressing.... More

This is a lovely old building which has been modernised to a high standard. The bedrooms are nicely modern decoration with a country shabby chic feel. The bathroom in room 108 was not so well thought out as a very large sink overhung the toilet so for a female you needed to limbo into position! The staff were very friendly... More

Very nice country pub in North Hampshire near the famous Castle. Very nice decor. Unfortunately service very slow. Plenty on the menu but could be better for Vegetarians. Quite a large car park. Loos nice.

My husband and I stayed here for our visit to Highclere Castle. At this quaint Inn, Manager Dan and staff provided warm and welcoming service. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the meals were outstanding, and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in this area.

Read good reviews before booking and it is a nice Hotel. Very conveniently situated if visiting Highclere Castle. Room slightly on the cosy side but had everything you could need, very clean, tidy and comfy. We did have a problem with a constant drip coming from somewhere in the bathroom but we couldn't find it. Mentioned it to receptionist in... More
