DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE RELYING ON THE STAY FOR AN OCCASION. We booked this hotel as it was close to Highclere which we booked for my mother in laws special birthday. Tickets for Highclere are non-refundable and you cannot change the date, so we decided to book this hotel……Only for them to cancel our booking!!! This trip was booked as a special occasion and we are now scrambling to find somewhere else to stay. We live over 2 hours away so travelling there and back in one day is not an option. There is something fishy going on here, there are far too many of us having the same issues for it to be a case of a ‘double booking’, which is what we were told.

What ever you do don’t book to stay at this hotel, as they will just cancel your booking. I booked a trip away for my mum and me to visit Highclere, once the booking was confirmed I bought the tickets for that date. On there disclaimer you can not change the date to visit so if I can’t find another hotel now we will have lost our money and a trip away for my mothers birthday. Absolutely disgraceful!.

Clearly they are having issues that aren't being disclosed as loads of bookings being cancelled under the "exclusive use" excuse. But whatever is going on a full disclosure should be given as they are letting down so many people who have booked with them for special occasions. Including myself who booked this hotel for my sister's 60th who recently lost her husband. I think it's disgusting behaviour from this hotel and if they do manage to solve their issues I hope they find themselves with no guests indefinitely.

Booked this place ages ago for Fairford airshow weekend. Contacted yesterday by hotel who cancelled it. Reason that an exclusive booking has been extended. For that read - more money elsewhere. Seems they do this regularly. Unreliable is worse than poor service. I now need to find somewhere else which will be much more expensive due to later booking. Won’t ever visit here so can’t advise what it’s actually like but if you want to be sure you’ll have somewhere to stay pick somewhere else. Avoid

I had arranged a golden wedding anniversary for my parents and book the Regency 4 months ahead of time. 3 weeks before, i had a call to tell me that had cancelled my whole booking. They were unprepared to compensate me in the slightest for cancelling the booking. I would avoid this place as they dont seem very organised at all.

Could not agree with you any more @goodfood, Daniel was in charge of our wedding day but failed at every single level. Putting it politely it was like a sketch of faulty towers..... They even had the cheek to put the blame back on us, fortunately I had evidence to back it up. Dont book your wedding here peeps!!

Rude management and old fashion furniture, no air con and noisy room , I will never book a room in this hotel. The food is below average pub food and the prices are very high. The gentleman who is charge of the restaurant told us to go home when we complain about the noise in the room, we asked to put us in a different room but we been told NOISES is not a valid reason for the room to be changed!!!

Hotel cancelled with 3 days notice for a 40th present. No explanation. Totally disgusting customer service as they knew about it a month before. I feel really let down and when I emailed back I got no response. We will not use this hotel in the future

Like the previous reviewer we were cancelled with the same explanation. Absolutely disgusting. The hotel has shown a total disregard for the feelings of their customers. This was a suprise weekend away for my 50th from my wife. I'd love to know who they've let all these rooms to, obviously people of such great importance that their paying 'bread and butter ' customers don't matter to them. Being cancelled during the lockdown was obviously understandable and I get the point that hotels are playing catch up with their finances. But by pushing potential returning customers away doesn't seem like great business sense to me.
