Lovely place, golf course excellent, pro-shop staff extremely friendly and helpful, receptionist (Donna) was very accommodating. Andrea and barman in restaurant and bar superb after evening meal wasn't up to expected standard but dealt with efficiently. Excellent room beautiful views over lake (Room 103). Very relaxing break with lovely grounds.

We booked a 1 night golf break direct with the hotel for Sat 20/8, 2 twin rooms and 1 double (group of 5 men). The rooms were ready on are arrival at 1:30 ...we had rooms 12, 13 & 14 in the "Lakeview" pavilion although no view of the lake was possible as the windows faced the service road !!... More

We were lucky enough to indulge in a great deal of 2 nights in one of their "Lakeview rooms" even though the trees pretty much obscured the lake; it was none the less a lovely view when you walked to the main house for dinner and breakfast (just a few minutes walk long the main drive up ti the house).... A Donnington Grove Hotel you step straight away in to a more relaxed world, a bit like going back to the days without a stressful day :-) stayed in a room in one of the nearby cottage next to the Mansion. Nice room with good atmosphere. Super friendly staff and it is a place to return to.

We were visiting Highclere Castle and looking for a room to accommodate three people and this was one of only 2 hotels in the area we could find. As it is a 3* I was a little concerned but we were all very pleasantly surprised with a lovely room, and bathroom, with dual aspect over looking the grounds and generally... More

A good holiday golf standard course. The hotel is fine and the food and facilities were all good. You might need to make an appointment for check out if there is a reasonable number of you as it does not seem to happen quickly. Otherwise perfectly acceptable.

Our thoroughly enjoyable stay in the Main House Suite was the perfect precursor to our trip to Highclere Castle the following day. Customer service was consistently excellent, professional and efficient at every stage of our stay. Having booked one night B&B for our family of four, we were planning a quick stopover before another day of sightseeing around the UK,... More

Driving up the drive definitely had the wow factor - it's a beautiful setting. Our welcome was very warm, and we were shown to our room on the first floor in the main building, but due to the slope the hotel is built on, it actually turned out to be floor higher when looking out of the window. We were... More

Slightly unusual place. No prior booking info. Not in main hotel but in small cottage. Private and quiet bit silly to have underfloor wet room heating full chat in August. Sweat box. Breakfast busy and although properly staffed slightly disorganised with long waits for basics like butter and toast. Sausages excellent. Also coffee. £3 credit card surcharge means securing room...
