We originally booked in for two nights over the Bank holiday but left on the afternoon of the second day having had one disappointment too many. Firstly, arrived early afternoon to find there was no food service for the rest of the day. Secondly there was no hot water from circa 5pm until 8 am the next morning. The Management... More

Nice recently renovated room, plenty of tea and coffee making facilities. Clean and tidy ( could do with a bedside light. However room above pub and whilst music was switched off at 10pm, after 3 renditions of Bohemian Rhapsody had had enough. Spoilt by pub customers, whose drunkenness and swearing let it down. That and a kitchen that had closed... More

Very comfortable, cosy bedroom, spacious shower room. Very friendly welcome from the staff, good breakfast. What we liked most was visiting a pub that is used by locals as a place to socialise, it is not a flashy eating house, but a very welcoming public house. The evenings meals are pub meals, good and filling.

Stayed in room 3, above the bar, and could hear every word from downstairs. Toilet was dirty — I cleaned it as I didn't want anyone thinking I'd left it in that state. Went down for breakfast just before 8.30. There was a pot of coffee but no milk, no sign of life in the dining room at all. I... More

Definitely recommended if passsing through the village or staying for a few days. Welcomed at first meeting by professional staff and gave us a hand with our bags. Very rare in a small country pub. Dined on our first night and being offerd the new menu with the classic pub grub and a wide variety on the specials board. The... More

Totally unacceptable on every level! The whole room was broken and filthy. Obviously no effort made to have any standards. There was a hole in the window pane, the window was screwed shut and the whole frame was leaving the wall. The TV had a combination of twisted wire coat hangers stuck into an aerial booster that buzzed loudly. The... More
