We stayed here on 31st October for 2 nights. The welcome was far from welcoming. Room was small, shower overflowed, told landlord who ignored it. light didn't work in shower. Carpet was filthy. Room was noisy as you could hear the road noise, no double glazing. After going out and coming back in at 10pm there were no parking spaces... More

Attended this hotel due to business in Newbury. All other central hotels were full hence this choice . The "link" bus will take you straight to this hotel for £5 and takes around 25 minutes from the train station. From reading the reviews on trip advisor I was a little worried although I was shocked as the room was very... More

Quaint pub, friendly bar staff. Great for our overnight stay. 2 comfortable rooms included wi-fi, tv, hairdryer, towels & toiletries shower over bath or stand alone shower, took a few minutes to work out how to adjust water temperature, however water from the basin taps were very hot. Plenty of complimentary tea & coffee. Breakfast included in price, but starts an hour... More

We chose this hotel because we were looking for somewhere reasonably priced to stay close to the Bombay Sapphire Gin distillery, which would cater for three people in separate beds. The room we were given was well appointed and had three comfortable beds, two clean towels and toiletries per person and plenty of tea and coffee sachets. The bathroom was... More

We stayed at the George and Horn while at Carfest this year. The Premier Inn at Basingstoke had clearly spotted an opportunity to significantly up their prices, so we were looking for an alternative. Check-in was nice and simple and efficient. We had two rooms, one in the main part of the pub, the other on the annex to the... More

Room pleasant enough, opening on to car park and beer garden (could be very noisy). Good WiFi. Beer not very well kept. Lack of choice of wine. Pub grub not well cooked and of not great quality. White bread only, just one slice of toast with breakfast. Bacon and sausage decent quality. No fruit on offer, only cereal. Choice of... More

Visiting the area for the Battle Proms at Highclere Castle we stayed the night here. It is a very attractive C16th building with drinking area outside and parking for about 10 cars. There are 10 rooms in total. Five outside in adjacent building and five above the bar. We stayed in room 3. A small room, but nicely recently decorated... More
