Booked two family rooms at the YHA Scarborough for two nights over half term to celebrate my son's 11th birthday with friends. Rooms were clean and comfortable with three bunk beds in each and a sink. Plenty of toilets and showers. Kitchen was very well equipped. Lots of board games and a table football, which was very popular. Lots of...

We received a warm welcome from the wardens who were very friendly and helpful when we returned from a cold and wet bike ride along the Cinder track to Robin Hoods Bay and back. The hostel is small and cosy with sofas in front of the wood burning stove. The general atmosphere was relaxed and genial and our fellow hostelers...

We hired Scarborough Youth Hostel exclusively for our children's birthday party and had a wonderful time. Everything was perfect and the owners were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for an unforgettable two days!

The hostel was clean and warm.. In particular, the toilets were very clean. The bedding was clean and fresh. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent next to a river with excellent views. The car park was spacious. I would definitely go again.

With the owners on vacation, the two young subs from Belgium and Chile were keeping the place in it's usual fine fettle. Not busy in September, I enjoyed meeting hostellers from both the UK and abroad.

I stayed here having completed the Way of the Roses cycle route after a train ride up to Scarborough from Bridlington. It is fairly cosy inside, although it does have a suitably sized dining area and 'traditional' lounge/ reading room with comfy looking armchairs. Unfortunately the whole building seems a little out of date with its quirky layout, and although...

6 ladies cycled from York to Scarborough Youth Hostel. The hostel was very clean, the beds were comfortable, there was always hot water for a shower and the owners were very welcoming, friendly helpful and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were gorgeous and fantastic value for money, even serving filter coffee if you wanted it. There...

We first stayed at this Youth Hostel 4 years ago, it is in a good location and was good value for money. It was our first stay with the YHA and we have been members ever since. So we were looking forward to our revisit, just the one night between a night at YHA York and YHA Whitby. It was...

A lovely little hostel on traditional lines - there's no TV or much of a signal so it's bookshelves and boardgames and actually talking to people. A welcome contrast to the bigger citified hostels and a great way of seeing the Yorks coast while staying away from the crowds during the evening.

Yes it is tucked away around a sharp bend - once you go down to the YHA you could be anywhere - it is in a beautiful setting, river at the bottom and walks in the surrounding areas. Garden area to sit out (watched a family of rabbis feeding every day) and pleasant inside. You are made to feel welcome...
