Just had a lovely five day break at the Grand in Scarborough with National Holidays. Our room was spotlessly clean, decor, bedding, towels, bathroom/toilet etc. great shower. constant hot water. In room tea/coffee making facilities replenished daily. There was a good choice of well cooked food for breakfast and evening meal. All in all a great stay Will definitely be... More

Dogs are welcome. They get treated better than the humans! Awful from the start. One person on reception for a huge queue, we were directed upstairs when our rooms were in the dungeons downstairs, in the cramped basement 2 floors down into a claustrophobic "broom cupboard", with no window. Staff were really ignorant, rude, sarcastic with such bad attitudes. We... More

Our room was a family room, very spacious and overlooking the Bay. Beautifully decorated with lots of personal touches. The baroque exterior and interior takes your breath away. The staff are very guest aware and treat you like Royalty. The main staircase is a sight for sore eyes, beautiful and ornate. The breakfast and evening meals are self service with... More

On arriving the hotel looks spectacular although dated. As you check in again it seems dated and in need of updating. Then as you get the lift to your room reality strikes. The lifts are filthy, even if it is old and shabby there is no excuse for it not being clean. Then the rooms ours was reasonable dated furniture... More

We stayed at the Grand in one of the Turret rooms. The views are fantastic. A 360 degree view over the coastline and out to Oliver's mount. There are still signs of what this hotel used to be like but it is full of coach tour guests and yes there are moans and groans but we had a lovely stay and... More

Avoid this place The rooms are terrible and dated I cannot believe for such a beautiful building from the outside, the rooms are in A State of such disrepair! We thought we had it bad, but talking to one couple in a basement room they told me they had "no windows " surely that's a health and safety issue? Everything... More

All the reviews on here that are bad are due to the fact people are not taking into account the age and history of this beautiful building. We had a fantastic stay here , staff were friendly and very helpful. We arrived Saturday 16/7 joined the queue to check in whilst enjoying a nice cold beer for a bargain of... More

Dreadful place. Twin room was so tiny that it was difficult for two of us to get undressed for bed. We didn't unpack, there was nowhere to put our clothes as wardrobe was a single. Also, nowhere to put our cases. Only one chair in the room so one of us had to sit on the bed to watch TV.... More
