I has planned to book a room using an online website but after looking at the hotel website which stated 'phone hotel for cheapest prices', I booked directly with the hotel. I wanted a king size room and had been quoted an online price of £268 for a double super king room, I booked direct with the hotel at a price of £228. A saving I was very pleased with. However, at the hotel, once we were in bed, I realised that we had been given a double room for £228, the advertised online price for that room. As we were only there for two nights, it was too much effort to request a room change and we stayed put. I would have preferred to pay the extra and have a super king room! That said, the room was clean but very small. Most of the staff, housekeeping and waiting, were very friendly although the receptionist was not. I do not think I would stay here again. We could have had a king size room at the premier inn opposite and probably been just as comfortable.

Room Tip: Very noisy outside, cars racing, a pub on the opposite side of the road and lots of seagulls.

The hotel had a week's notice that we were vegetarian. Uninspired sandwich choice, some wierd veggie meat slice. What's so difficult about egg, cheeses, pickles, etc? Cake selection was just thrown onto the plates, most were clearly past their sell by date. Basically don't come here for a nice afternoon tea. Waste of money.

The hotel is in a very central location Room was clean, although very small and tatty, carpet threading in places and window wouldn’t stay open unless we wedged towels in it. Afternoon tea... not worth the price, scones very dry wasn’t edible, some of the sweet options were dry on edges, sandwiches soggy had clearly been made early in morning poss day before for cakes and kept in fridge. Did tell waitress but she didn’t seem very concerned Breakfast was good, plentiful and tasty.
